Position SummaryThe Vice President - Investments will participate in all aspects of RCP's investment process, with a focus on underwriting secondary and co-investment opportunities in the Lower Middle Market Buyout space.Duties and responsibilitiesServe as integral member of the Investment Team, which as deal quarterback provides significant exposure to senior investment professionals within RCP and the broader private equity industryUnderwrite secondary investment opportunities, including top down and bottoms up LBO valuation models for baskets of operating companiesDiligence and execute co-investment transactions, which will entail all aspects of directly investing into the cap table of operating company, including meeting management teams, assessing industry attractiveness and working with Associates to create detailed LBO valuation modelsMeet with fund managers as it relates to secondary, co-investment and primary investment opportunitiesPrepare investment memos and co-lead RCP investment committee discussions on secondary and co-investment opportunitiesDevelop relationships with General Partners to provide sourcing opportunities for RCP productsProvide scale and bandwidth to Principles and Partners on Investment TeamTrain and mentor pool of analysts and associatesEnhance our current processes and practices and make us betterRequired Bachelor's degree required - MBA preferred2-4 years of principal investing experience is a requirement; strong preference with prior exposure to secondaries5-8 years of work experience in an industry with private equity exposure (investment banking, credit underwriting, management consulting, investment management)Advanced modeling and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)PreferredAbility to prioritize and manage hisher workload such that deadlines are consistently metHigh degree of comfort in a dynamic and fast paced work environmentPossesses strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasksAnalytical quick thinker with unconventional problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent time management, project planning, and organizational skillsOutstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrated ability to develop materials and effectively present to and persuade tam members and the Investment CommitteeDynamic relationship building and partnership skills; a strong teammateMust have the ability to interact with a variety of individuals (employees at all levels, clients, General Partners), along with the ability to work independently when requiredBenefits & CompensationInsurance services including medical, dental and vision plans.
