About the Company: The Mechanical Design Engineer-fluid power requires the knowledge and ability to design and validate complex hydraulic equipment. The design of new equipment to meet changing business needs along with redesign of existing equipment to increase reliability, safety, and quality.Pay Range: $75,000 - $80,000 Per YearResponsibilities: MechanicalHydraulic design Determine form, fit, function and specification of hydraulic and mechanical equipment and components to meet manufacturing requirementsneeds (presses, mobile equipment, heat treat equipment, machine tools, etc.)Research and develop new processes and equipmentFluid Power circuit design (logic, system control, and hydraulic schematics)Hydraulic and mechanical layout of systemscomponents (SolidWorks part & assembly modeling)Design andor select fluid power components for machinery (hydraulic power units, manifolds, valving, piping, actuators, etc.)Determine operating loads of equipment (hand calculations, spreadsheets, and measuring systems & tools)Size fluid power system and components for safety and reliability by performing comprehensive analysis (hand calculations, spreadsheets, & Finite Element Analysis)Material selection for designed components (specifying manufacturing process, mechanical properties, etc.)Detail all component and assembly drawings for manufacturing (tolerance, fits, dimensional analysis, GD&T, etc.)Assist with quoting and procurement of components - put together all necessary documents required for manufacturingassembly (bill of materials, hardware lists, budgets and costing, ROI, contract review, etc.)Project Management - instruct outside contractorsvendors and internal personnel for timely assembly of hydraulic and mechanical designs.Direct production personnel on proper usage of equipment and developinstruct proper maintenance practices of equipment.Troubleshoot complex fluid power and control systemsReverse engineer of existing hydraulicmechanical components - analyze the mode of failure, accurately measure the component, redesign (if necessary), and create blueprints.Responsible for overseeing the startup of new and updated equipment.Corporate position responsible for the hydraulic and mechanical design and reliability of equipment in all three plants (along with two joint venture plants).Designs meetexceed respective codes: Analysis, validation, and due diligence is performed to ensure quality of design with (first and foremost) plant and personnel safety.Support production and technical personnel during off-shift hours. Qualifications: BS in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 1-3 years of experience specialize in Fluid Power SystemsKnowledge of how hydraulic designcomponents impact the machine control system performanceHands on individual with excellent troubleshooting skillsExhibits a high level of mechanical aptitude and creativityProficient in blueprint reading, tolerances, material selection, and manufacturing processesSolidWorks (Solid modeling) for parts, large assemblies, and drawingsFinite Element Analysis (Structural linear FEA)Strong skills in MS officeExcellent communication skills, organization, and detail oriented
