POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Financial Analyst provides project management, management consulting, analytical support or technical expertise for a broad array of financial and operational issues for the division. Assists in developing financial performance monitoring processes and coordinating compilation, interpretation and presentation of monitoring information. Participates in the planning and development of division, departmental andor functional budgets and forecasts. Periodically participates in budget system completion, high level reviews and conducting area wide analyses for target development. Serves in a consultative role as a facilitator, driver of change, communicator, and liaison in collaboration with executives, leadership, physicians, clinicians, and other hospital & business stakeholders to effectively utilize people, processes and technology to reduce charge errors, reduce rework, increase net revenue overall and reduce expenses.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducationLicensureCertification:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management with a MBA preferred. 3+ years of financial reporting, accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, analytical or decision support experience.Experience must include healthcare operations and strong healthcare analytic responsibilities; working with an interdisciplinary team.Knowledge:Extensive experience with Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint applications with proven ability to work within and generate statistical reports.Knowledge of healthcare operations. Knowledge of Lean principles preferred.Skills:Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; 10-key by touch; ability to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions; ability to reprioritize workload as needed; ability to handle multiple projects at once; ability to meet deadlines; excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to function independently with minimal management required. Must be able to obtain support from various levels of management.Ability to extract data out of a variety of computer systems to produce management reports for leaders.Must have a strong attention to details, demonstrate diplomacy and persuasiveness. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.Ability to understand or predict customer needs and objectives from a programmatic, financial, technical, organizational, andor cultural perspective.Must be well versed in financial analysis with strong analytical skills to work with large datasets and draw insights based on the underlying data.Demonstrate project management skills and competency with research, analysis, and project leadership.Ability to initiate communication with people and obtain relevant business information.Proactively builds strong teamwork and business relationships, both internally and externally.Decision making: Involves interpreting and analyzing large amounts of data. Exercises considerable judgment to make decisions for less defined and complex issues.
