Our client, a North American leader in custom plastic extrusion and a processor of high-performance polymers, is seeking a Process Engineer for Plastics Extrusion to join their growing team in Morrisville, PA!As the sole engineer at this location, you'll collaborate with engineers across 14 other facilities while working closely with the on-site Morrisville team in Manufacturing, QC, Materials, and Sales. You will play a critical role in managing the quoting, tooling design, process development, and troubleshooting for new custom plastic products for Lighting and Industrial applications. This includes overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring thorough documentation of all new processes, and troubleshooting existing workflows across multiple sites.This hands-on role is ideal for someone with plastics experience, a problem-solving mindset, and mechanical aptitude. You'll be leading tooling design and development, oversee first-article production, and refine manufacturing processes. If you're looking to advance your career with an industry leader that values innovation, lean manufacturing, and professional development, we encourage you to apply!Key Responsibilities:Manage the quoting, tooling design, process development, and troubleshooting for new custom plastic products for Lighting and Industrial applications.Oversee projects from concept to production, ensuring detailed documentation of all new processes.Troubleshoot existing processes and adapt to material and tooling changes across multiple sites, communicating updates to all involved locations.Improve processes for line speed, ease of startup, and higher efficiencies.Collaborate with operations teams to transition samples to production quickly and effectively.Coordinate with operators to implement and communicate best practices.Work closely with customers to understand their needs and design programs for ease of processing and material selection.Support QC efforts by performing First Article Inspections, documenting processes in ISO-friendly formats, assisting operators on inspection equipment, and investigating part rejects.Partner with Supply Chain to track projects from concept to full production, optimizing material handling and reducing changeover time.Execute and improve Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), streamlining processes to enhance accessibility and efficiency.Develop and deliver safety training related to material processing hazards.Contribute to the introduction and implementation of fluoropolymer processes within the company.Requirements:5+ years of experience in plastic manufacturing process optimization, tooling design, or related engineering applications.Experience with plastics or plastics extrusion processes.Proficiency in CAD software.Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement strategies.Hands-on experience in tooling development, fabrication, or prototype production (preferred).Ability to analyze manufacturing workflows and implement efficiency improvements.Excellent problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams and locations.Bachelor's degree in Engineering.Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30a-4:30pmLocation: Morrisville, PA (Onsite)Benefits: Medical Insurance, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, 401K with Company Match, PTO, Basic Life, Long-Term Disability, Work-Life BalanceIf this sounds like your profile, please apply and one of our recruiters will connect with you!Follow us on LinkedIn:
