Lead Dam Engineer Full Time Direct HireFairfield, NJ (can pay relocation assistance MUST be in office hybrid)W2 onlyOur client is actively growing their Dams, Levee and Water Resource practice in the Mid-Atlantic area supported by a strong backlog of existing dam engineering work. The qualified candidate must have strong leadership and project management experience, with the ability to generate project leads and build client relationships.This position requires direct interaction with clients and the ability to manage and mentor staff level engineers. The role will also require collaboration with current damsleveeswater resources Practice Leaders on expanding market presence in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Key Duties: Supervising and scheduling geotechnical and structural engineering staff and providing technical direction and oversight.Senior project management of interdisciplinary teams of geotechnical, structural, hydrologichydraulic, and civil engineers; to include, scheduling and supervising project meetings, producing and managing project schedules and budgets.Managing and reviewing the preparation of construction plans and technical specifications.Supervising and reviewing dam andor levee safety inspections.Managing and tracking budgets, creating project invoicing and Client follow-upCommunicating effectively and efficiently with team members, clients and teracting with clients and regulatory agencies.Prep for technical and cost proposals.Supervising fieldwork including test borings and instrumentation installations and construction monitoring for dam and levee rehabilitation projects.Providing data analysis, organization, and interpretation in support of damlevee inspections, evaluations, and rehabilitations projects.Executing andor supervising engineering analyses including seepage and slope stability analyses of embankment dams and levees, drainage and filter designs, gravity dam stability analyses.Writing andor reviewing field reports, inspectionengineering reports, and permit applications.Qualifications: B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field of practice is requiredProfessional Engineer license in NJ is required with the ability to obtain PE in NY and PA.An ideal candidate will have at least 10 to 20 years of experience in civil - geotechnical engineering, with direct involvement in dam safety inspections, condition assessments, subsurface exploration programs, engineering analyses, dam rehabilitation design, and regulatory permitting.Direct experience completing projects with public sectormunicipal agencies in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania is highly preferred.Proven experience with design and development of engineering technical specifications, cost estimating and other related bidding documents.Solid project financial management skills; knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency are all required competencies.A strong background using various geotechnical computer software such as SEEPW, SLOPEW, and finite element analysis software such as PLAXIS are preferred.Be knowledgeable of dam and levee safety guidelines utilized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Natural Resource Conservation Service, and other Federal agencies, as well as State Dam Safety agencies.Occasional out-of-town travel will be required. Candidate must have consistent means of transportation tofrom project sites.
