Responsibilities:Engage in design activities such as creative brainstorming, proof-of-concept calculations, system layouts, top-down assembly design, detailed component design, and drafting.Conduct analysis using classical handbook calculations, engineering spreadsheets, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess structural integrity, stability, fatigue, and fracture.Participate in testing processes, including hands-on involvement in internal verification programs and technical oversight of external laboratory testing.Provide manufacturing support by collaborating with internal and external shops to streamline product development, address non-conformances, and determine necessary corrective actions.Assist with product installation, including operation, maintenance, repairs, and decommissioning.Contribute to project planning by coordinating system layouts, detailed designs, system analysis, verification, manufacturing support, documentation, reporting, design reviews, and client presentations.Perform additional duties as assigned.Required Skills and Experience:Education & Technical Expertise:Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.Preferred: Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or another technical discipline.Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential.Familiarity with linear and nonlinear structural FEA software is advantageous.Experience with AbaqusCAE is preferred.Experience with other 3D CAD systems is a dustry & Practical Experience:Background in engineering or fabrication within the oil & gas industry.Experience working in a project-based environment.Strong analytical skills and an organized approach to achieve optimal results.Ability to think creatively, precisely, and innovatively to solve complex problems.Proficiency in reading blueprints and industry specifications.Experience with deepwater riser systems is a plus.Knowledge of machined and welded structure design is advantageous.Experience in machine shop, welding, and various manufacturing methods is preferred.Analytical & Testing Skills:Familiarity with Roark's Formulas for Stress and Strain and Peterson's Stress Concentration Factors.Strong competency in free-body diagrams, load path analysis, stiffness, and deflection calculations.Experience with linear and nonlinear structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is preferred.Prior exposure to structural, fatigue, and functional testing is beneficial.Experience in correlating test data with analytical models is a plus.Knowledge of strain gauges, load cells, and data acquisition systems is an advantage.#10687
