Position SummaryThe Financial Analyst assumes responsibility for the timely and accurate preparation of financial operational analysis requests for Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center. Oversees and updates profitability and performance projections. Prepares and presents service line and payer analysis, profitability and performance projections, revenue and cost assessment for existing and proposed business opportunities. Provides decision support to operating and senior management. Prepares costbenefit analysis: ROI, cash flow statements, feasibility, Lease vs. Buy, NPV and IRR, operational, organizational, and staffing analysis, and budget and forecast review. Manages special project requests. Essential Job FunctionsAccountabilitiesAssists in developing projections and modeling for strategic and long-range planning, across multiple timelines and utilizing multiple financing sources and structures; Participates in the analysis of actual and projected financial performance and key performance indicators, summarizing analysis and results, identifying risks and opportunities; Prepares and presents tailored profitability and performance analysis to facilitate the management decision process.Collects, analyzes and interprets financial and statistical data. Analyze, interpret and present current operating trends. Organize and structure data and information to ensure informed business decisions; Develops methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing complex financial analyses; Incorporates internal and external data covering micro and macro-economics, industry, and competitive benchmarking information, customer and employee input; Performs required research of the most technically challenging analytics andor the creation of new approaches.Serves as Database Administrator for costing and contract modeling system and decision support system; Assists Sr. Financial Analyst and Manager of Decision Support in updating and maintaining decision support system on a timely basis. Provides decision supports analysis; completes a sufficient amount of work on schedule.Seeks ways to improve and streamline processes; Demonstrates financial prudence; seeks out ways to reduce costs; Anticipates program delays, adjust resources to stay on course and when necessary, communicate issues to recipients. Assumes personal accountability for the preparation and completion of projects and analysis, including the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of teracts with populations of customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity in an effective manner; Makes communication meaningful; practices professionalism and excellence with a team centered approach; understands and utilizes service recovery approaches.Assists Sr. Financial Analyst and Manager of Decision Support with labor productivity analytics and statistical reporting, as needed; Provides support for special projects as required. Applies thorough understanding of key business processes to effectively anticipate and address the longer-term implications of decisions and actions.All other duties not specifically assigned.Position RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Operations Management preferred.Experience: Minimum of four (4) years related professional and business experience in a technicalfinancial healthcare analysis or consulting position. Healthcare experience preferred; Knowledge of acute care and integrated delivery systems.Technical Skills: Expertise in current modeling, spreadsheet, and presentation techniques and applications; Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required; Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Tableau, SQL are preferred; Superior analytical skills and abilities; Requisite project management and interpersonal skills; Must be able to manage multiple large projects successfully.
