Cad Technician

DAY TO DAY: As a CAD Technician, your day will involve a variety of tasks centered around CAD, mapping, and 3D modeling. You'll start by interpreting field notes and sketches to perform technical computations and produce large-scale, complex drawings. Throughout the day, you'll provide support to field staff and gather data relevant to land features for engineering and construction purposes. You'll also assist in creating plans, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys. Regularly, you'll attend meetings with project managers, surveyors, clients, and consultants, and occasionally visit client facilities or construction sites. All tasks will be performed with a strong emphasis on safety and responsibility. Perform assignments of a varied nature, requiring a solid understanding of the fundamental of CAD, mapping, and 3D modeling.Perform work with general guidance and supervision or provide support to more experienced personnel.Provide support to field terpret field notes and sketches.Perform technical computations and produce large scale, complex drawings.Provide and gather data relevant to the shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation, or dimension of land or land features on or near the earth's surface for engineering, construction, and other purposes.Assist in creating plans, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys.Attend meetings as needed with Client Project Managers and Surveyors, in addition to clients and consultants. Visit client facilities andor construction sites as needed. Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS: 2+ years CAD-Drafting construction experience1+ year with Civil3DExperience with Construction plan review - Schematics, Blueprints, Computer aided design Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office Suit Plusses:Degree in - Civil engineeringRelated fieldCAD Design experienceExperience with Revit, Three-dimensional CAD, andor point cloud experience
