Job Title: Business Unit ManagerReports To: General ManagerDepartment: OperationsLocation: Manchester, MIGeneral FunctionEnsure that a business unit - a particular segment of the company - is meeting goals that contribute to the overall success of the company.ResponsibilitiesAbide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Employee corporate policies and procedures of the company in business unit operationsMonitor and review company's project activities and goals and ensure that they are brought to completion within scheduled period of time and budgetProvide effective management to organization's business activities that have to do with its strategic and financial growthCreate new strategies for marketing and monitoring QC and QA measuresPerform efficient finance managementPerform review of equipment and system layouts and its validationEnsure harmonious environment for workingResponsible for training and mentoring staff; motivating them all for effective performance for the general growth of the companySet up the business unit's strategies for promotional activitiesCoordinate with other teams like the engineering team in order to develop plans for launching of new products, and then its implementationDevelop and communicate the expectation levels and vision of the company to members of unit, reflective of the company's corporate vision and goalsCoordinate with other heads of departments, integrating objectives and ideas for organizational growthPerform day-to-day administrative tasks, such as processing information files and other paperworkRespecting and understanding of the Customersupplier relationshipAdopt a common sense approach to identifying and addressing problems and control weaknessesQualificationsPreferred Diploma or Degree in Engineering, FinanceAccounting, Business Management or similar field5-7 years related experience in a manufacturing environment; preferably automotiveKnowledge of Quality standards - IATF 16949Leadership experience is an assetProven ability to motivate teams to achieve high standards and accomplish set outcomesRequired SkillsExcellent attendanceExcellent Communication Skills (oral and written)Excellent organizational and time management skillsFamiliar with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and RegulationsAbility to interact with the Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company's performanceAbility to work independently without supervision and with minimum directionAbility to work in a team environment and be both a team player and team leader Working ConditionsOffice Environment and Plant Floor (PPE required)Physical ComponentConstant communication with employees, peers, and managementOvertime as required
