Purpose of Role: The role is part of the engineering team at Triangle Tube and covers all the product areas for hydronic heating, hot water, and HVAC that Triangle Tube is currently involved with or might be involved with moving forward including residential boilers, commercial boilers, indirect tank water heaters, pool heaters, plate heat exchangers, Heat pump water heaters, Heat pumps, direct fired water heaters, and other heating and cooling equipment. The Project Engineer will be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities involved in the development, evaluation and validation of product and component designs. The engineers' position will deal with current and future products under development for both the Triangle Tube and Ideal brands. The position will work as part of a team and involved with new product and continuing product support. The position will be directly responsible for sustaining engineering and support all the current product lines. Working within part of a wider team, the Project Engineer will be required to participate in all related engineeringtechnical activity in delivery of the project program and development of the competence center for technical information withing the company in north America.The role is responsible for:Support engineering functions for a product or product family for the entire product lifecycle.Enter and modify product data in ERP system as well as initiate, review, and create ECRs and ECNs.·Plan, conduct, and coordinate engineering assignments which typically include several smaller projects or one major project; participate in planning objectives.Prepare monthly progress reports detailing progress of projects for engineering leadership.Work closely with engineering and product management teams to ensure product developed meets ANSICSAUL criteria and market requirements.Work cross-functionally with team members from purchasing, sales, manufacturing, accounting, and test laboratories (internal and external) to ensure successful completion of the project. Primary Responsibilities: Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the teamProvide support to sales, training, and field service as the technical expert on a productDevelop and apply engineering standards and procedures and create lab work orders to analyze or replicate field issues, work with laboratory technicians to run tests and evaluate the plete assigned engineering projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitationsWork with Marketing and Sales as the technical expert and attend trade shows to support the sale of the productsCreate and manage CIP and PR reportsParticipate in industry groupsPerform advanced engineering tasks under limited supervisionCommunicate with engineering functions, including design, process, production, quality, and reliability teams. Essential Criteria: Experience in an area of gas appliances for heating or hot waterAbility to work with a cross functional team in a multinational companyMust be proficient in computer skills (i.e., Excel, Visio, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint). Team player with excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to influence and motivateExtremely high level of urgency to resolve problemsProven track record in prior roleThe ability to read and understand engineering documents and drawingsThe ability to multitask and work on several projects at onceUnderstanding of heat transfer and other engineering principals Competencies (Qualifications, Experience, Training, Other): a. QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, either mechanical or electrical requiredMaster's degree preferredb. Experience (years and nature)6 or more years of project engineering, certification, product development experience required2 or more years of hydronic, water heating, o HVAC engineering experience requiredExperience with ANSICSA boiler, water heater, or heat pump standards requiredExperience in evaluation products for certification and performanceExperience in investigating, troubleshooting, documenting, and performing corrective actions in product designs. Strong intraintercompany and external coordination skillsExperience in working with outside vendorsExperience in engineeringmanufacturing change processesc. Previous TrainingPreferred advanced Excel trainingHydronic trainingHeat loss calculationsd.
