We are currently expanding into other metropolitan areas and states across the US.Job Summary:The Structural Engineer candidate will perform structural planning, analysis and design for structural aspects of transportation and facility projects. He or she must be familiar with structural design methods and have proficiency with structural design and analysis software (examples include SAP2000, CSi-Bridge, LPILE, MDX, LEAP Bridge, STAAD), Excel, Mathcad, along with CAD programs such as AutoCad and Microstation.Familiarity with AASHTO is required and codes and standards for local agencies such as NYSDOT, NJDOT, NYCDOT is preferred. The candidate should be a detail-oriented individual with strong attention to precision to produce accurate designs and plan sets. Must be capable of multi-tasking and working in a team-based environment to perform work to meetexceed client expectations in a timely manner.Must be capable of working with other technical design staff in a multi-discipline team environment and participate in day-to-day design activities. Adherence to MP Quality AssuranceQuality Control procedures is a must.Duties and Responsibilities:· Utilize knowledge and experience to provide input on design approach.· Provide design details, quantities, and cost estimates.· Perform calculations and analysis required for design of structural elements.· Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, and familiarity with local design guidelines such as NYSDOT, NJDOT, NJTA· May be required to coordinate with government agencies, utility companies or contractors throughout the design and construction process.· Provide responses to technical inquiries.· Assist in development of plan sets, design reports or other technical submittals· Carry out QAQC plan requirements and follows plans for document control· Review shop drawings, construction methods and operational procedures.· Prepare production drawings utilizing MicroStation or AutoCAD.· If required, conduct site visits to perform condition assessments and document findings. Prepare condition assessment reports.Qualifications:· Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required.· NY or NJ PE license a Plus.· Minimum 4-8 years of progressive and demonstrated experience in analysis, design and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects.· Previously demonstrated project experience with NYSDOT, MTA, NYCDOT, NJDOT, NJTA is preferred.· Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Excel, Structural Design Software,· Proficiency in MS Office applications required
