Job Description: Under general supervision, the Legal Administrative Assistant performs a variety ofspecializedcomplex secretarial and administrative support functions for two or more timekeepers, and performs other work as required.PAY: This is a temp to perm opportunity. As a temp, you will start at $28HR, but once you are converted permanent the salary will be $80,000 per year. Responsibilities:• Support attorneys in the litigation and family law practice group by maintaining and processingcase information, managing the progression of cases to final disposition, creating electronic files,preparing, and processing correspondence, memoranda, and other complex legal documents.• Litigation duties include preparing documents for state and federal court filings, includingdiscovery requests and responses, letters, pleadings, motions, and documents, as well as e-filingin various state and federal courts, both trial and appellate.• Manage calendars and schedule meetings, teleconferences, networking events, and court dates.• Prepare and draft a variety of legal documents.• Assist with the new clientmatter process, ensuring timely submission of all forms.• Open, organize, maintain, and close paper and electronic client files and pleading binders.• Research, prepare, and file legal documents with courts and other agencies under attorneysupervision.• Handle extensive client contact via phone, email, and in-person.• Complete and track expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and reimbursements.• Provide back-up support to the Receptionist, covering the front desk.• Perform other related duties as required.Requirements:• Proactive work style with strong analytical skills needed for reading, researching, reviewing,verifying, and routing correspondence, reports, and legal documents.• Ability to stay ahead of deadlines, prioritize tasks and projects, and anticipate attorney and clientneeds.• Excellent production skills, capable of producing accurate work when transcribing, formatting,inputting data, editing, copying, scanning, and transmitting text, data, and graphics.• Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in grammar and spelling.• Exceptional client service skills with a proven record of building effective relationships withinternal and external clients.Qualifying Experience:• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.• 3+ years of experience in administrative support in the legal or professional services sector,including experience supporting litigation practices and family law matters.• Familiar with NY and NJ Court Systems and e-filing.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Internet researchskills, document management systems, and attorney time entry software.
