While a challenging position, for the right person, that's smart and tough, dynamic and creative, this role can also be one of the most rewarding roles.The Sales Pioneer: The first salesperson in a successful startup often goes on to achieve remarkable things. They develop a unique bond with the founders and early team members"”a connection that reps 10, 20, or 200 will never quite replicate.Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy & ExecutionSales calls galore! You will be the front facing person of the company - the voice of Ground - the AI itself. This means you'll be responsible for owning the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and pitching to negotiating and closing deals.You gotta be dynamic and champion sales by taking our founder's playbook and rewriting the parts that could use some tweaking for the next phase of growth.Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs, present tailored solutions, and drive value for our clients.Lead Generation & ProspectingGot a book of business? You'll identify and target potential customers through a mix of outbound and inbound strategies. Whatever drives new business, the better!Follow up strategies and relationship management. Develop and execute a sales pipeline, nurturing leads from initial contact to closing.Build and maintain a strong network within the industry, leveraging relationships to generate new business opportunities.Performance Tracking & ReportingTrack and report on key sales metrics, such as pipeline progression, win rates, and revenue targets.Use data-driven insights to continuously optimize sales processes and strategies.Provide regular updates to the leadership team on sales performance and market trends.What you should haveStrong work ethic, resilience, and humble eagerness to learn; You are HUNGRY, HUMBLE, and ELEVATE those around youAt least 2 years of sales experience, with at least 1 year closing deals with a proven track recordExperience selling deals between $15k-$50k ACVYou like selling deals that close relatively fastYou like high-volume transactional sales2+ years of experience in a sales role, ideally within a startup or fast-paced environment with high velocity salesExperience managing SaaS sales cycles at a previous startup.
