By helping our clients gain access to the best ideas and financial products (as well as custom-designed qualified and non-qualified plans), we help our clients accumulate, preserve, and transfer personal wealth.Position Overview: The Assistant Director of Retirement Plan Services serves as a point of contact for clients and participants seeking assistance with their employer sponsored retirement plan. This position requires an engaging person that is comfortable in a client facing role, who will provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to plan enrollment, contributions, distributions, and general plan administration. The person ensures that clients and plan participants receive accurate information in a timely manner and resolves issues efficiently, while maintaining compliance with all regulations and company policies.Key Responsibilities:Customer Support: Handle incoming phone calls from 401(k) plan participants, sponsors, and other stakeholders, providing guidance on plan features, enrollment processes, contribution changes, and distribution requests.Problem Resolution: Address and resolve client inquiries, issues, or concerns regarding their 401(k) plans, such as contribution errors, plan eligibility, or distribution processing.Plan Education: Educate clients and participants on the features and benefits of their 401(k) plans, including investment options, retirement planning strategies, and plan changes or updates.Enrollment Assistance: Guide new participants through the 401(k) enrollment process, ensuring they understand their options and make informed decisions regarding contributions and investments.Data Entry & Documentation: Accurately document all interactions, including phone calls, client requests, and resolutions, in accordance with company protocols. Update participant records as pliance Adherence: Ensure all communication and actions follow applicable federal regulations, such as ERISA, IRS guidelines, and internal company policies.Issue Tracking & Escalation: Identify recurring issues and work with management or other departments to find long-term solutions. Escalate complex or unresolved matters to the appropriate teams or management.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal departments (such as sales, operations, accounting, compliance, and plan administration teams) to ensure seamless service delivery and resolution of participant issues.Training & Education: Conduct training sessions for clients, plan administrators, and participants on topics such as plan usage, regulatory compliance, investment options, and retirement planning.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required. Business, Finance, or a related field a plus.3 to 5 years of experience in a 401(k)-plan management, retirement plan services, or financial services role.Series 6 or 7 required; and 63, 65, or 66 required. Life insurance producer license a -depth knowledge of 401(k) plans, IRS regulations, and ERISA guidelines.Strong customer service and relationship management skills.Ability to analyze data and communicate insights effectively to clients.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be proficient in Microsoft apps, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.Certification such as the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) or similar certifications is a plus.Preferred Skills:Familiarity with 401(k) plan administration platforms and software.Salesforce proficiency.Knowledge of fiduciary responsibilities and compliance requirements.Experience working with retirement plan recordkeepers, custodians, or third-party administrators.This role is ideal for someone with strong 401(k) knowledge, client-facing experience, and the ability to manage multiple client relationships while offering strategic guidance and support in the retirement plan space.Please note this is an in-person role located in our office in Warwick, RI with local (Southern New England) travel to pensation and Benefits:Compensation commensurate with experience.
