Position Overview:We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Management (Technical Lead) to design and develop power management solutions for electronic devices and systems while also providing technical leadership to a team of electrical engineers with diverse skill sets and experience levels. This role is responsible for mentoring engineers, guiding technical decisions, and serving as the primary interface between the team and senior management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general electrical engineering with hands-on experience in power electronics, battery management systems (BMS), and inverter topologies, combined with strong leadership and communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Technical Leadership & Team CollaborationProvide technical mentorship and guidance to a team of electrical engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.Lead design reviews, technical discussions, and troubleshooting sessions, ensuring best practices are followed in power management design.Act as the primary technical liaison between the engineering team and senior management, effectively communicating project progress, risks, and key technical decisions.Establish and enforce design standards, methodologies, and best practices within the team.Support cross-functional collaboration by working closely with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of power management solutions.Assist in workload distribution, prioritization of tasks, and problem resolution to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.Provide technical oversight on key projects, ensuring designs align with performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.Provide a technical voice from MPC to customers, suppliers, vendors, etc.Power Management System Design & DevelopmentDesign and develop power management solutions for electronic systems, including DCDC converters, ACDC systems, battery charging circuits, and energy storage systems.Conduct power budget analysis, efficiency optimization, and thermal management for complex hardware systems.Define and implement power management architectures, ensuring robust power integrity, stability, and reliability.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., IEC, UL, FCC, ISO, MIL-STD).Testing, Troubleshooting, and DocumentationDevelop and execute power management testing plans, including verification, validation, and compliance testing.Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting for power-related issues, working with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement design improvements.Maintain thorough documentation of power management designs, test results, and engineering decisions.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.5+ years of experience in power management engineering, power electronics, or electrical systems design.Strong expertise in power electronics, analogdigital circuit design, and power distribution networks.Experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and guiding technical decision-making.Proficiency in power management simulation and design tools (e.g., SPICE, PLECS, SIMetrix, etc.).Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD), with experience in power delivery network (PDN) analysisFamiliarity with PCB layout best practices for power electronics, including EMIEMC mitigation and thermal considerations.Knowledge of regulations and standards related to power management (e.g., UL1008, ULISO60950, IEC 62368, etc.).Hands-on experience with power measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads) and validation processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex power-related issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in automotive, aerospace, medical devices, industrial power systems, or consumer electronics industries.Expertise in wide-bandgap semiconductors (SiCGaN) for high-efficiency power conversion.Expertise in BMS design, battery pack architectures, and inverter topologies.Familiarity with functional safety requirements for UL certifications.Knowledge of mechanical design process and familiarity with MCAD tools (e.g. Solidworks, Creo, etc.).Basic firmware knowledge (Arduino, etc.) for rapid prototyping andor debugging of electronic hardware systems.
