Nova Engineering Team is looking for a System Engineer to work with Design Engineers, Product Managers and Researchers to participate in the ongoing development, integration and characterization of a novel metrology solutions across several product lines. This person will be part of a highly skilled and efficient team of System Engineers with significant combined experience in instrumentation for Semiconductor production environment. You'll gain in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge metrology tools, participate in industry trainings, and receive ongoing mentorship from experienced engineers.Role Responsibilities:System Engineer play a key role throughout the entire Product Life Cycle from the inception and validation of new ideas to final product release and field testingOur ideal candidate would be a highly motivated individual with broad experience in applied high vacuum systems for electron beam and x-rays related technologies.The ideal candidate will maintain, operate, and run experiments on the current and next generation XPSXRF tools with minimum supervision.The candidate must have high proficiency in hands-on work (in a cleanroom environment) and demonstrate the ability to use complex vacuum systems with high-end metrology equipment such as stages, gauges, cameras, lasers, detectors, spectrometers, electron beam analysis equipment, tegrate and test solutions for existing and next generation products, validate the concepts of the proposed solutions and initiate the development and implementation of these solutionsParticipates in the Design and Testing phase of the component (sub-system), ensures that the design complies with the requirementsOwn the integration of the new component or sub-system into the product and characterizes its behavior at full product performance levelDevelop procedures for and trains Manufacturing, Service and Applications in all aspects of the new component or sub-system as it relates to the complete system - assemblyWhat will make you succeed in the role?Problem solving skills for resolution of system level challenges at every phase of the Product LifecycleWillingness to participate in field activities for new product release or challenging customer issuesCustomer management skills that build relationships with internal and external customersRequirementsBS, or MS in Physics5+ years of experience in semiconductor or other large capital equipment marketsTechnical knowledge in systems utilizing electron-optics, electron columns, XPS, or SIMSAbility to develop, run and maintain experimental systems, prototype, and beta systemsDesign and incorporate metrology equipment (cameras, detectors, etc..) and vacuum hardwareResolve technical problems in development, and maintenance of research HardwareEquipmentMust be able to balance independent work, accountability and ownership of complex problems with teamwork, collaboration and sense of joint purpose.Drive for high quality work product with focus on the Customer's problem at hand and understanding of timeline, budget and other practical constraintsEducated and experienced in general scientific thinking and approach to problem solving. He She has consistent, logical and analytical approach to solving problems with good reasoning skills.Listens as if she he were wrong and argues as if she he were rightCan design and execute high-precision measurements and process the data accordinglyExtra Spice:System integration and characterization skills combining critical thinking and scientific intuitionConceptual understanding of particle detection and signal amplification (100 kHz range)Working knowledge of high voltage components in the 5kV range. Familiar with basic high-voltage best practices.Good organizational, interpersonal, and time management skillsHands on experience working with hardware components, basic electronics modules and diagnostics instrumentation.Working knowledge of clean vacuum systems (1e-7 torr) and vacuum-related design is a plus.
