Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Weapons EngineerScientist position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.Salary: $76hr - $82hrLocation: Los Alamos, NMCitizenship: US citizenship RequiredWork Schedule: 58sClearance: Need to be able to acquire Q clearanceRelocation: $5,000 relocation allowance permitted.ImpactAs a Senior Mechanical Design Checker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of mechanical designs for critical national security projects. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of high-stakes initiatives within the Nuclear Security Enterprise.Responsibilities and DutiesReview and validate Creo models and drawings for form, fit, and functionConduct tolerance and stack analysisEnsure product definitions meet producibility requirements while minimizing defectsRecommend improvements compliant with NNSA, laboratory, and industry standardsDevelop and interpret 3D CAD models, standards, practices, and proceduresLead design, manufacture, assembly, and test reviewsMentor and guide other checkers and design staffCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, physicists, scientists, and techniciansMinimum QualificationsActive Q clearanceExtensive experience with Creo 3D CAD software, PDMLink PLM, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis softwareExpert knowledge of ASME Y14 standards, particularly Y14.5-2009 and Y14.41 MBDProficiency in weapon-system configuration management workflowsStrong communication and teamwork skillsProven leadership experience in guiding design and modeling techniquesDesired SkillsSignificant experience in draftdesign work in both weapons and non-weapons arenasExperience in developing and implementing organizational design andor drafting standardsEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology or related field from an accredited institution8 years of directly related experienceOR an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupationNote to Applicants:• For full consideration, applicants must submit a resume and comprehensive cover letter addressing each key requirement of this position.Join our team and make a significant impact on national security through your expertise in mechanical design.
