Key responsibilities: Carry out routine cellular assays on mammalian cell types including but not limited to embryonic stem cells, hematopoietic stem cells, cell lines etc using automated liquid handlers like Hamilton, Tecan, BD FACSDuet etc. Involve in routine analytical testing for flow cytometry, cell based assays, sample preparation, cell count and cell viability assays using automation systems. Work collaboratively with the Analytical Development and Process development group to ensure successful transfer of developed assays and to resolve any technical issues that arise during execution of the transfer. Communicate cross functional teams to ensure the sample testing is effectively coordinated. This job will require a weekend schedule - Thursday - Monday schedule Work flexibly for samples testing in the manual way or in a different lab/building as needed. Maintain excellent written documentation (e.g., lab notebook and test forms) Assist with lab organization and compliance with lab safety protocols. This position is lab-based and requires 80-90% lab testing and 10-20% sample/data management. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similar Scientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years') In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience with or understanding of robotic liquid handers (TECAN, Hamilton or other) and their operating software (Fluent Gx, VENUS, or other) for automated sample preparation. Hands-on experience and technical proficiency with mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, cell-based assay development, ELISA, HPLC, PCR ddPCR/qPCR, RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, SDS-Page and/or HPLC. Understanding of process development for cell and gene therapy products. Team player, innovative, collaborative, and initiative. Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
