Job Description Time Type: Full time Role Details: Time Type: Full Time Starting Pay: $19 / HR Job Location: 1350 IH 35 N, San Marcos, TX 78667 A Millwork Manager in Training (MMIT) can expect to learn all aspects of managing a millwork plant by training and working in all assigned areas of the facility by performing the following duties: Learns all the basic duties and responsibilities of all millwork plant positions, especially the Assistant Manager position, through institutional and on-the-job training provided during the Management Development Program Must consistently achieve a passing score in all areas of the Management Development Program, including classroom instruction/skills training, hands-on skills practice, and testing/assessment During or after the successful completion of the Management Development Program, applies for open Millwork Assistant Manager positions as they become available After successful completion of the Management Development Program, can demonstrate working knowledge of the following responsibilities (note: this list is not inclusive): operate the company's point-of-sale system to process customer transactions, and compile product and quotes/estimates. Ensures quality customer service including how to build and maintain customer relationships. Can resolve customer complaints as necessary. Assist internal customers with product questions. Can assign and train new team members on mastered tasks and responsibilities Attend and participate in store meetings, training sessions, and company-sponsored programs Other duties as assigned by management or by business need SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Be able to read, comprehend and write instructions and correspondence, including equipment maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Be able to communicate in one-on-one and small group situations Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions Be able to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations Utilize company point-of-sale system (MAC21), WorkDay, Microsoft Office, and other 3rd party software Successfully pass all Company training regarding equipment usage, including obtaining forklift certification Prior supervisory or management experience in any industry with responsibility for product selection, merchandising, and human resources management (scheduling, payroll, conflict resolution, etc.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior supervisory or management experience in the millwork building supply industry. Knowledge and understanding of reading and interpreting blueprints and structural designs, including calculating necessary information for bid and quote submittals to customers. Production and installations of door units and millwork in the residential/apartment industry. Willingness to relocate for promotion opportunities to Assistant Manager (opportunities for promotion are not guaranteed in the same market or nearby markets of the initial home store location) WORK AVAILABILITY McCoy's millwork location is generally open 6:30am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday. Saturday availability is sometimes necessary. A Manager in Training should be generally available to work these operating hours per day/week, including overtime if necessary, to meet business needs during regular business hours. Some afterhours availability may be required. Employees must maintain acceptable attendance as scheduled to meet business needs TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS This position may require occasional travel with overnight stays for company meetings, company training events, and perform duties at other locations. A Manager in Training must meet the driver's license requirements of the Company PHYSICAL DEMANDS The following physical demands must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use their hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment described is which an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
