As a Principal Systems Engineer (with 7+ years of experience), you will be responsible for User Terminal (UT) requirement, Ku and Ka phased array chipsets, Ku and Ka antenna architectures, fast antenna calibration methodology, hardware, firmwaresoftware architecture trade-offs, implementation, defining test and validation test plans of various UT configurations. You will be working in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team and customers supporting development and productization of various UT products.Main Responsibilities and TasksDefine UT systems architecturessub-systems formal requirements and specifications flow-down using industry standard requirement entry and tracking methodologiesAnalysis and design tradeoffs of various UT architectures including RF and performance simulation to support tradeoff decisionsAnalysis and design tradeoffs of Ku and Ka band phased array chipsets and array antennasSupport the requirement definition of Ku and Ka band phased array chipsetsAnalysis and design tradeoffs of Ku and Ka band phased array chipsets and array antennasDefine Ku and Ka band phased array cost efficient, fast production calibration methodologytechniquesDevelop requirements from top-level to sub-assembly, coordinate creation of coverage and test plans release management plansProactive engagement with internal and external customer development on Systems' hardware and software architectures and implementationDocument requirements and flow down requirements to various engineering functional teamAssist in focusing internal and external engineering efforts across the organizationEnsure delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory and business requirementsSupport in-field test and validation of various UT systemsExpect up to 20% of travel depending on the phases of the projects.Required QualificationBS or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field7+ years in SWHW development environment with at least 5 recent years in architecturalsystem role7+ years' experience with RF, digital communication and communication theory7+ years' experience in development for complex telecommunication andor satellite communication systems7+ years' experience with formal requirement tools and methodologies (Jama, Jira, Doors etc.)3+ years programming skill on MatlabPython and CC++3+ years' experience in computer network and TCPIPPreferred Skills & ExperienceMasterPhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical EngineeringFamiliar with satellite communication theoryFamiliar with phased array designs and implementationsSatellite over-the-air Communication field-trial experienceDebugging skills for systems integration from RF front-end to basebandAbout Intellian Technologies Intellian is the world's leading provider of satellite antennas and terminals, with a mission to empower connectivity so connectivity can empower the world.
