Career Transitions LLC is currently working on behalf of a durable consumer goods manufacturer locally to help them hire a Corporate Manufacturing Engineering Manager.As the Corporate Manager, this role defines, sets, and leads Manufacturing Process Planning (MPP), Engineering Change Management (ECM tools), and will implement Bill of Equipment (BOE), Bill of Process (BOP) and Bill of Operation (BOO) requirements, including lean, agile, and flexible (LAF) guidelines, for current and future assembly and manufacturing processes including aluminum and fiberglass manufacturing.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:This role will lead, teach and mentor a group of Manufacturing Engineers at several manufacturing facilities. This includes, but not limited to: Leadership:Lead the development and implementation of MPP, ECM tools, BOE, BOP, and BOO and incorporate lean, agile, and flexible (LAF) and six sigma guidelines into manufacturing processes.Oversee the manufacturing engineering for manufacturing, metal fabrication, surface preparation, painting, assembly, fastening, functional testing & error proofing, and lift assists equipment for all Manufacturing Plants. This includes manufacturing processes and material flow.Equipment Needs:Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for equipment as needed.Support design engineering with DFSS, DFM, and DFA principles.Lean Material Flow:Assume responsibility for Lean Material Flow, including the design of kitting areas, lean containerization, material delivery routes, and Kanban systems.Continuous Improvement:Understand and effective use of Lean Manufacturing System Principles & Methods.Respond to production needs and requests for continuous improvement (CI).Identify and eliminate waste in areas such as quality, scrap, uptime, productivity, and energy.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or similar with a demonstrated history of hands-on manufacturing engineering leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Other attributes of a successful candidate include:Expertise in lean, agile, six sigma, and flexible manufacturing processes.Strong project management skills.Excellent understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards.Proficiency with classical manufacturing tools and techniques.Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.Background in metal fabrication helpful ( ie, welding, bending, forming, presses, lasers, jigs and fixturing).Experience working with fiberglass is a plus.This role will guide and mentor a group of younger engineers. This role will be instrumental in building a world-class manufacturing process!
