We are seeking a Transport Engineer II to join our team to support fiber-based uplift projects within the IllinoisWisconsin region. This role will focus on circuit disconnect orders and managing responses from 3rd party providers, ensuring the proper documentation and maintenance of circuit path designs. Experience in the cellular industry with LIT and dark fiber circuit projects is required, as well as familiarity with circuit management databases, such as Canvas (CND).As a Transport Engineer, you will work closely with engineers on new technologies, upgrades, and construction projects. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate fiber designs and network optimization efforts, supporting fronthaul, backhaul, and microwave networks. The ideal candidate will also assist with the auditing of the Canvas and FUZE databases, ensuring all equipment and circuit paths are correctly documented.Key Responsibilities:Submit circuit disconnect orders and manage vendor responses for fiber-based uplift projects.Collaborate with engineering teams to track and audit circuit and fiber designs.Support the reduction of Direct Telecom expenses by disconnecting unused circuits and validating billing.Manage relationships with telco vendors, ensuring timely disconnect orders and associated credits.Participate in project update meetings and release work orders to field engineering teams.Assist with upgrading Ethernet backhaul bandwidth to 10G and disconnecting legacy 1G circuits.Support network connectivity activations in partnership with the Network Assurance teams.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.3+ years of transport design experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.Experience with LIT Ethernet and Dark Fiber networks.Knowledge of Canvas (CND) and FUZE SPM databases for circuit tracking.Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and show initiative.Must be self-motivated and capable of working in a hybrid model (onsite 2 days per week).Nice to Have:Experience with Ericsson Baseband, Ciena 5164, Nokia IXRe, or Assentria Siteboss related to cellular network design.Familiarity with 3rd party vendors, network portfolio maps, and ordering processes.Understanding of Spine and Leaf (CLOS) Network Architecture.What You Didn't Know About UsCompetitive salaryHealth, Dental and Vision BenefitsLong-Term growth potential401kWith this position, you will get the opportunity to work with a game changing client and further advance your already valuable experience in the telecom industry!We are Connectors.
