LHH is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Controls Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical engineering, with a focus on automation, controls, and instrumentation. The anticipated salary for this role is between $90,000-$120,000 a year.Responsibilities:Design and select components for electrical control panels.Choose appropriate sensors and pneumatic control components for systems.Apply knowledge of UL508A and NEC standards in control system design.Write, modify, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and Kinetix servo motion control programs.Develop electrical schematics and bills of materials based on guidelines provided.Manage time, costs, and ensure the selection of reliable, high-quality components.Follow pre-established guidelines and instructions to perform duties effectively.Contribute to the creation of departmental engineering standards and procedures.Review and interpret customer specifications for system requirements.Design and modify machine electrical schematics as needed.Exhibit strong skills in logical code writing, debugging, and troubleshooting.Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineering teams on system design and implementation.Make independent decisions to improve efficiency, manage budgets, and meet deadlines, under the guidance of management.Assist customers over the phone with troubleshooting installed systems.Travel (up to 30%) for system installations, modifications, and electrical controls support at customer sites.Mentor and support entry-level Electrical Controls Engineers in their development.Skills and Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and AutoCAD.Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.Expertise in electricalcontrol aspects of machine design, with a strong understanding of industry concepts and practices.Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical design applications.Familiarity with selecting and using commercial products like photo sensors, pneumatics, vision systems, and hot melting systems.Strong proficiency in PLC programming and motion control systems.Ability to understand and implement industrial writing concepts.Knowledge of machine timing principles and operations.Experience with electrical schematic software (AutoCAD Light, SolidWorks Electrical is a plus).Exposure to PLC and HMI programming, along with multi-axis coordinated motion control.Strong electro-mechanical skills and understanding.Practical experience in machine assembly, including the calibration and adjustment of sensors and actuators.Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
