Sr. Product Engineer

Career Transitions is currently seeking a senior level Product Development Engineer to work with a growing and innovative durable consumer good manufacturer servicing the greater automotive market. This role will design solutions for products and set up specifications to meet business goals.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Product development: Working closely with designers, test, manufacturing, and quality engineering team members to provide support.Product specifications: Establishing product specifications to meet organizational goals.Test programs: Developing test programs, hardware, DVP&RData analysis: Analyzing statistical data for new and sustaining products.Product release documentation: Generating and managing product release documentation.Cost reduction: Driving cost reduction activities.Product issues: Working on resolutions to product issues using data analysis.Train, and mentor other Engineers and supporting staff.Ensure APQP compliance during engineering development activities, as well as interface deliverables.Utilize and coordinate robust product designs practices within terface with customers to obtain technical requirements and engineering specifications (QFD and related activities).POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in engineering with at least 7 years of product engineering experience with experience in FEA and CFD tools. Experience with DFMEA's and DVP&R's. Must be proficient with Solidworks software and have some experience with LEAN principles ( 5s, kaizen, value stream mapping, demand flow, etc. Background in plastics, fiberglass manufacturing and automotive, OEM experience preferred. Other important traits include:A collaborative leader that embraces the idea of being the "go-to" person.Someone who takes initiative, that can work independently or in a team environment.Good interpersonal skills, both oral and in writing.
