Kovitz Southfield Office Internship Program:This program is ideal for a current undergraduate college student entering into their sophomore or junior year. This position is full-time during the summer (35-40 hoursweek from May - August) and then transitions to part-time hours (10-15 hoursweek) during the school year.As an intern, you will be expected to contribute to Telemus while developing yourself and at the same time working with top financial life advisors, portfolio managers and investment analysts. This opportunity focuses on the fixed income investment side and is responsible for modeling analyzing financial statements, conducting research, writing reports and servicing portfolio managers. This opportunity is ideal for a student seeking hands-on experience in the financial life management industry. You will gain a deep understanding of the RIA industry, its opportunities and how it is different from the traditional brokerdealer side of the business.POSITION REQUIREMENTSThe ideal candidate is an undergraduate "rising junior or senior" pursuing a degree in businessfinanceaccountingeconomics with an interest or experience in Wealth ManagementMinimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 terns will focus on a variety of tasks to support the firm such as preparing reports for client meetings, administrative tasks, some marketing support, portfolio management, and technology.Candidates should be organized and have a knack for communication both written and verbal. We look for motivated self-starters with a team-oriented mentality that find opportunities to collaborate and can work with and through others.Responsibilities:Prepare fixed income research reports on large and mid cap corporationsAnalyze the fundamentals of an industry or companyLearn the essentials of trading fixed income securitiesAssist in the management of fixed income client portfoliosQualificationsEnrolled in a current undergraduate or graduate program tracking to a bachelors or master's degreeStrong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suiteBloomberg experience preferredStrong analytical skills to read, create and evaluate complex financial reportsHigh accountability to ensure our client and team expectations are exceededDemonstrated ability to manage diverse relationships within a teamPersuasive communicator demonstrated through active listening, clear written and oral communicationStrong desire to continually self-develop demonstrated through intellectual curiosity and personal learning.
