The Position - Electrician: Airfield SystemsNAVAIDsWe are seeking a skillful, reliable and experienced airfield electrician. Must have experience in navigational aid electrical work with solid electrical skills and knowledge. Our ideal candidate is a responsible, detail-oriented person with 5+ years of experience and at least 2 years working on airfield systems. The Airfield Electrician is responsible for (but not limited to) installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems specifically related to airfield navigational aids. From runway lights, taxiway signage, and visual glideslope indicators (PAPI) to rotating beacons and working on mid to high voltage systems, an understanding of electrical circuits and aviation safety standards are key to successful candidacy for this position. Candidates willing to travel and work on projects averaging durations of 2 to 8 months from Florida to within the U.S. a must. The day-to-day responsibilities of the Electrician: Airfield SystemsNAVAIDs May Include (but are not limited to):Maintenance and repair: Performing routine inspections, troubleshooting faults, replacing bulbs, cleaning lenses, and repairing electrical components on airfield navigational aids. Communication & Transparency: Ability to work with colleague electricians, to collaborate and follow the project plan provided by company leaders and a willingness to work toward the larger goal of a successful project Installation and upgrades: Installing new navigational aid systems, including wiring, control panels, and lighting fixtures, as well as upgrading existing systems with new technology. Preventative maintenance: Conducting regular checks on electrical systems and components to identify potential issues before they become operational problems. Compliance with regulations: Adhering to FAA regulations regarding airfield lighting standards, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Technical expertise: Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand system layouts and troubleshoot issuesTesting and Calibration: Using specialized equipment to test and calibrate navigational aids to ensure accurate performance.Coordination with other teams: Collaborating with airport operations staff, air traffic, and construction crews to coordinate maintenance and minimize disruptions.
