Housekeeper

Job Description: Private family seeks an energetic, polished, and experienced Housekeeper to work in their East Hampton residence with occasional travel to Aspen for 1 to 2 weeks total per year. This position consists of a six--day work week in the summer with flexibility to work weekends and long hours in the high season, with very generous PTO given in the winter months. The hours for this position when the family is in-residence begins with breakfast and runs through dinner service, with flexibility to work late into the evening. The ideal candidate should be extremely detail oriented and be a self-starter. The family is open to individuals who are interested in living in or out or a combination of both based on work schedules. A proactive attitude towards keeping the home in pristine order and be able to work seamlessly with additional household staff.Requirements: Strong command of English language; excellent communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent references required from both current and previous employersMinimum 5 - 7 + years related experience working in a private home in a similar role or roles for a private familyAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilitiesAptitude to execute formal food and beverage service Willingness and ability to perform light cooking and food prep for familyPhysically agile; able to navigate an expansive residenceLegally able to work in the United StatesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ability to perform museum-quality cleaning with proficiency in special surfaces (wood, glass, leather, furniture, antiques, silver, brass, etc.) Daily cleaning, care, and upkeep of main residence, guest house, and garage apartmentsMaintaining residence for guest readiness at all timesLaundry services and dry-cleaning management as neededProcuring household supplies; including grocery shopping and stock level managementPerform light cooking and food preparation either with principals or independently Hands-on formal and semi-formal food and beverage serviceRunning errands and carrying out special requests as neededAdditional Housekeeper duties as requested by the principal
