You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Your expertise will help drive continuous improvement initiatives and support our commitment to delivering superior metal products to our customers. The ideal candidate must have job shop engineering andor fabrication experience. It is a rewarding position in a fast-paced work environment where safety, quality, delivery and customer service are top priority. This is a full-time, onsite position.Essential FunctionsEngineeringCreate SolidWorks models and flat blank developments from customer specificationsCreating routings, BOM's and control plans for productionReverse engineering from customer samplesCreate internal drawings to support customer needs and quality requirementsAssist other Jensen team members in estimating costs on potential businessAssist in selection and implementation of new equipment, processes, and toolingImplement 5S or lean initiatives on shop floorProgrammingCreate laser programs using Radan for Mazak and LVD lasersCreate brake press programs using RadanDevelop process sheets including tooling location info and positioning as neededWork directly with production to help troubleshoot processes and programsQuality AssuranceMonitor and control process parameters to ensure adherence to quality standards and specificationsInvestigate and resolve quality issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions as neededConduct regular audits and process evaluations to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policiesCustomer RelationsWork directly with the customer to develop products, reduce costs, and improve qualityHelp support a customer's order as it is being processed through the shopOnsite customer visits when necessarySupport Jensen's Lean Manufacturing ProgramStandards and Measurements of PerformanceAchieving customer delivery request datesExceeding customer PPM quality level expectationsEngineering throughput cycle timesRequirementsStrong computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks 3D modeling (or similar 3D modeling software with emphasis on sheet metal processing), CNC programmingHardworking, high energy, results oriented individual, with a passion for the customerProven ability to speak and present to all members of an organization, including both technical and non-technical audiencesProven ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with a multicultural and diverse team and influence other departments and senior managersEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, preferred.Proven experience as a Process Engineer in contract manufacturing rather than a product line5+ years of Fabrication experience is critical; lasers, cnc turret punch press, spotwelding, rolling, formingpress brakes, mig & tig welding, assemblyStrong understanding of metalworking processes, equipment, and materialsStrong SolidWorks® (sheet metal) backgroundProcess certifications, such as a Six Sigma belt, is preferred but not requiredPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear.The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and armsThe employee must occasionally lift andor move up to 50 poundsTo all recruitment agencies: Jensen Metal Products & KSP Group, Inc. affiliates does not accept unsolicited agency resumesCVs or phone calls.
