Your day will involve troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to repair requests. You'll work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to keep production moving smoothly and safely.Responsibilities include:Performing preventative maintenance on all company equipment to ensure long-term reliabilityDiagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy equipmentKeeping detailed records of maintenance and repair work performedResponding quickly to emergency repair situations to minimize downtimeKeeping work areas organized, clean, and stocked with necessary parts and toolsCollaborating with managers and warehouse teams to schedule repairs around production needsIdentifying potential equipment issues and addressing them before they become bigger problemsRequirements and Qualifications:3+ years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair3+ years of experience using hydraulics in a personal or professional settingStrong mechanical and electrical knowledge in various industrial settingsAbility to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and being on your feet frequentlyValid driver's license (required for equipment-related travel as needed)Flexibility to accommodate occasional Saturday jobs for repairs and emergency maintenanceMust live within 30 miles of Grand Rapids, MI, to ensure timely response to maintenance needsAbout the Hiring CompanyOur client, Grand Rapids Iron & Metal, is a trusted name in the scrap metal recycling and industrial equipment industry.
