Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Financial Reporting is responsible for leading the financial reporting function for a publicly traded company and is a critical member of the finance leadership team. This role requires strategic vision and hands-on leadership to oversee the preparation and submission of timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations, GAAP standards, and internal policies.The Head of Financial Reporting will manage the preparation and filing of SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements. They will ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX controls, and other relevant accounting standards, while staying updated on changes in financial regulations to advise leadership on necessary changes. This role also involves providing updates to the Board of Directors and Audit Committee and managing equity awards and related expenses.As a proactive, team-oriented leader, the Head of Financial Reporting will manage and mentor a team of financial reporting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. They will collaborate with internal and external auditors and partner with departments such as Investor Relations, Legal, and FP&A to ensure alignment on financial disclosures.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to collaborate across functions to support the company's financial strategy and goals. This leader will develop and implement policies to improve financial reporting efficiency, lead special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, and provide insights to the executive team on financial trends and risks. They will maintain internal controls over financial reporting to mitigate risks and address audit issues promptly.To be considered for this position, candidates must bring the following experiences:Education & Certification:·Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).·Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.Experience:·10+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.·Public company and SEC reporting experience is required.·Strong technical accounting expertise, including familiarity with US GAAP, SOX, and ICFR.·Experience working in or with Big 4 accounting firms is a plus.Skills:·Deep understanding of financial reporting systems and tools; experience with ERP systems is highly desirable.·Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.·Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.·Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
