Safety Manager

Our client, a reputable construction firm, specializes in waterfront, transportation, waterwastewater, and heavy civil projects. They partner with major public agencies, including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Caltrans.They are seeking a Field Safety Manager to drive a strong safety culture across projects spanning from Pomona to San Diego, CA. This role is 80% field-based, working closely with site crews and management to ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations. This is an opportunity to join an industry leader committed to excellence in heavy civil and infrastructure construction.Key Responsibilities:Build relationships with field teams, coaching and mentoring on safety best practices.Conduct job site visits, safety audits, and provide hands-on guidance to foster a strong safety culture.Lead and attend project safety meetings, ensuring teams have the necessary safety resources.Develop and oversee site-specific safety plans, hazard analysis, and compliance vestigate incidents, identify corrective actions, and implement lessons learned.Conduct safety training (e.g., Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation, Forklift).Collaborate with project owners, subcontractors, and third-party safety personnel to align safety expectations.Qualifications:5-10 years of construction safety experience in Strong communication and leadership skills to engage with all levels of field and project teams.Experience conducting jobsite safety audits, training, and incident investigations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).Ability to travel to job sites across California.Preference:CHST CertifiedOSHA 30 Construction Outreach TrainerBi-lingual (Spanish)HCSS Safety Platform This is a confidential search conducted by our firm.
