Production EngineeringLocation: Chaska, MN, In-PersonPosition ProfileThe Production Engineer is primarily responsible for the technical management, maintenance and development of new and existing motor production processes.This individual will be successful by taking pride and owning the results of their conducted work, being hands on with the products, teaching and ensuring others know how to perform the work, as well as understanding how their decisions will impact the overall success of the company's this role the Production Engineer will define, develop, implement, and maintain methods, operations, equipment, and processes that continually ensure that products meet all internal and external requirements. The Production Engineer will also implement process improvements to improve yield results, participate in defect reduction activities, lean initiatives, and FMEA.Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering or related field5+ years' experience manufacturing electric motors or similar electromechanical assembliesKnowledgeable of electric motors, their components, the equipment, processes, and techniques for testing and manufacturing.Excellent verbalwritten communication skills required for interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as all suppliers and customersComputer literate, with demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.Must be a US CitizenEssential Or Primary Key ResponsibilitiesCreate tooling, fixturing, detailed assembly and test processes for new and improvement of motors and other production hardwareCreate, maintain, and improve FMEA, Control Plans, and other process control toolsIdentify and act on opportunities to reduce material and labor costsDesign methods, processes, and tooling that can be automatedUnderstand and implement measurement techniques utilizing best practices to assure part and assembly complianceInvestigate, assess and resolve production issuesSupport introduction of new process and products into production.Implement improvements to current operations to improve efficiencySeek out and utilize external resources and experts to solve issuesManage the procurement of necessary tooling, fixtures, and equipmentCreate, maintain and refine detailed manufacturing documentation (i.e. Operation Sheets, Routers, Set-upTooling sheets, etc.)Generate accurate estimates (i.e. set-up, cycle time, material, etc.) using cost effective manufacturing methodsAnalyze layout of equipment, workflow, and assembly methods to maximize efficiencyGenerate procedures from various industry and aerospace municate designs and design intent with team members and suppliers.Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to designs, material selection, facility layout plans, cost estimates, DFM concepts, root cause investigations, etc.Participate and lead root cause investigations, troubleshooting activities, continuous improvement initiativesExperience with various molding techniques, equipment, and processes highly desirableAdditional Duties ResponsibilitiesDesire to do "˜what it takes' to accomplish our goals and WINSpeak up!
