Plastic Molding Engineer

We are seeking a Plastic Molding Engineer to oversee and optimize our plastic injection molding processes. This role involves working with production teams, ensuring quality standards, troubleshooting molding issues, and improving manufacturing efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and optimize plastic molding processes for efficiency and quality.Select appropriate molding materials and ensure proper mold design.Troubleshoot molding defects and implement corrective actions.Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to enhance process performance.Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for molding operations.Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements and material selection.Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality requirements.Support new product development and collaborate with design teams on manufacturability.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field. years of experience in plastic injection molding or related manufacturing processes.Strong understanding of injection molding machines, materials, and mold designs.Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mold design and analysis.Knowledge of process optimization techniques such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.Hands-on experience troubleshooting molding defects and improving production efficiency.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Local applicants only.SalaryDOE (depends on experience)BenefitsMedical, dental, 401(k), and more.Job TypeFull-time
