We engineer, fabricate, install and service every product and system we sell in Mitchell, IN.JOB SUMMARY The Project Automation Engineer will focus mainly on implementing projects through layout verification, development, control schematics and programming of conveyor systems. This position will report directly to the Director of Electrical Engineering and will have a progression into each of the needs above starting with schematic development. Service and warranty needs may be among the diverse needs of the position.There may arise the need to travel to help a customer or project through a complex need in the field. The position may require travel up to 15% to fulfill these requirements of the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities(This list is not all inclusive and is subject to change; other duties may be assigned.)· Creates, redlines and checks schematics and layouts· Writes and modifies PLC programs for projects consisting of Allen Bradley SLC, Compact Logix, and Controllogix· Creates, modifies and tests screens for HMIs· Sets up, modifies, uses and tests Drives, Servos, Networks, Control Logix, Safety and Rockwell Software· Evaluates and tests potential new controls hardware· Performs periodic task scheduling and structured text programming in Control Logix · Performs programming of add-on instructions· Performs set-up of Eweb Socket connections and their operations· Performs set-up of ethernet messaging between CLX and SLC· Performs set-up of Factory Talk View SE Server Client applications, Factory Talk View Point Web Publishing and Factory Talk Administration· Performs set-up of server work groups and domain users· Performs Optix Screen creation and commissioning.· Testing and debugging of integrated CIMS systems prior to site commissioning· Discusses service and warranty issues on all of the above with the service manager, technicians and customers· Develops program processes and Standard Operating Procedures· Provides updates to the Customer Manager pertaining to status of activities· Management of scope, quality, cost, schedule on projects· Builds relationships at the technical and commercial level with the local site leads· Responsible for meeting project schedule, planned engineering hours, budgets, and customer satisfaction targets· Provide support of proposal efforts or customer presentations· Performs safety and housekeeping duties· Participates in required training and applies safety skillsknowledge· Participates in continuous improvement teams andor empowerment teams· Accurately completes required documentation· Participates in training of co-workers in all aspects of job responsibilities · Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Electrical Engineering Essential Skills and Abilities· Minimum four year degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred· Minimum five years experience in system engineering related to automated systems.· Proficiency with AutoCAD (current versions)· In-depth understanding of indirect addressing· Understanding of Structured Text programming in Control Logix· Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC's· Familiarity with material handling systems design (or equivalent)· Experience conducting system field startup activities· Must have excellent conflict resolution skills· Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet customer project commitments· Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites · Proficient with Microsoft Office productsPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT· This position will require the following: walking, sitting, using hands and fingers to handle or feel objectstoolscontrols, reaching with hands and arms, balancing, stooping, talking and hearing.· While performing the duties of this job, this person may be exposed to a noise level that is usually minimal but may be elevated at times.BENEFITSINNOVEYANCE offers a robust suite of benefits: Paid Time Off, 401(k) matching program (100% match on first 4% contributed and 50% match on the next 2% contributed), Paid Holidays, HealthDentalVision coverage, Health Reimbursement Arrangement (to help offset the cost of health care expenses), company paid Short- and Long-Term Disability (when enrolled in medical plan), and company paid Life InsuranceINNOVEYANCE provides equal employment opportunity to all applicants and employees.
