Day-to-Day Role:Manage and promote practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards, and serve the needs of our customers.Take ownership and demonstrate leadership necessary to achieve goals specific to Safety, Quality, Service, Efficiency and Employee DevelopmentMonitor KPI's anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of targetsLead by example to promote and encourage employees to strongly commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)Provides management of engineering services for the installation, maintenance, and improvement of machinery, equipment and facilitiesTroubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document maintenance plans and performance metrics:Failure, analysis, and corrective action proceduresEquipment capacities and risks; andOther engineering solutionsDevelop and implement of preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance plansInvestigate root-cause for repetitive damage and failure rates, and calculate costs that do not meet or follow the maintenance plansEvaluate, recommend, and acquire tools for use, including process analysis software, and other physical tools and resources specific to reliability and maintenance improvementLead training efforts to ensure maintenance technicians have needed resources for standard operating procedures (SOP's), work instructions, specialty tools, and updated Preventive Maintenance (PM) kitsSets priorities for maintenance backlog and oversees long-range and short-range maintenance schedules.Lead continuous improvement initiativesResponsible for evaluating, installing, and testing new equipmentEnsures that maintenance standards are compliant with statutory health and safety regulations.Direct teams to assess progress, analyze problems, facilitate solutions, identify resources and adjust plans as neededEnsure that objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirementsIdentify and recommend short- and long-term business strategies, understand and drive industry best practicesDevelop and convey broad, advanced conceptual ideas, and propose and persuade several diverse stakeholders, including senior manufacturing leadershipEstablish and communicate department goalsServe as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on applicable machinery, equipment, and facility for cross functional projectsUnderstand, support, and follow management expectations in alignment with company valuesCore Skills and Qualifications:The ideal candidate must possess all the following:Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field and seven (7) years of engineering, facilities andor machinery maintenance experienceSeven (7) years of progressive supervisory experienceTwo (2) years specific experience performing maintenance and equipment reliabilityDisplays strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachableDemonstrated project management experience by having successfully managed and completed a large, complex engineering projectAdvanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various productsAdvanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and modelsUnderstanding of reliability tools and strategies including direct experience facilitating Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) or Reliability Centered maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)Advanced knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of productsKnowledge of business and management principles specifically as it relates to maintenance planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidanceExcellent verbal and written skills necessary to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain demanding situationsAbility to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiencesAbility to utilize and train employees of varying levelsskills on technology, processes, and proceduresDemonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issuesPreferred Skills and Qualifications:Ten (10) years of engineering, facilities, machinery maintenance andor reliability experienceFive (5) years specific experience performing maintenance and equipment reliabilityDegree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineeringExperience managing multi-shift or continuous operationsPaper converting, chemical or plastics processing, or packaging industrial experienceLean manufacturing experience
