Senior Project Controller

The Project Controller is responsible for planning, directing, and reporting on the accounting, budgeting, and financial compliance for all assigned projects. This includes managing accounting processes and records as well as the timely and accurate production of financial reporting to closely monitor and report on the project's overall financial health.**This position may be located in our Office in Frisco TX OR Satellite Office (Onsite) in Austin TX**Job Responsibilities:Manage Project FinancesOversee all financial aspects of the project, including:Reporting financialsForecasting (with plannerscheduler)BudgetingMonthlyyearly financial closesAnalyzing budget vs. actualsMonitoring and escalating issues with Estimated at Completion (EAC)Invoicing and accounts receivable managementAnalyzing unplanned costs, margins, or revenue changesCollaborate with TeamsWork with different departments to gather information and establish pricing, task orders, and project details.Control Project Costs Track and manage project expenses, ensuring they align with the project budget.Maintain Financial DashboardsKeep financial dashboards updated and accessible for stakeholders and decision-makers.Set Up Task CodesEstablish and manage task codes and assignments for new and ongoing programs.Build Financial ToolsCreate financial models to support business goals.Advise on Financial ImpactWork closely with the project manager to provide financial insights on business decisions.Monitor ContractsUnderstand and review contracts to avoid breaches and ensure compliance with terms.Revenue RecognitionApply knowledge of project-based revenue rules (e.g., percent complete, time & material).Work with StakeholdersPartner with customers, leadership, and management teams for financial coordination.Ensure Accurate TransactionsImplement internal audits and controls to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and timely.Handle Accounts PayableEnsure payments are made according to terms and debts are managed.Financial Analysis and Cash ForecastingAnalyze pricing, contracts, and cash flow to ensure liquidity and identify potential issues early.Additional DutiesPerform other tasks as needed.Required SkillsStrong analytical skills with great attention to detail and quality.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to work with all levels of the organization.Knowledge of business principles like planning, resource allocation, and leadership.Ability to solve complex problems and find effective solutions.Ability to assess and improve project performance and financial health.Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.Experience working with executives and external stakeholders.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience required.3 to 5 years of progressive accounting or project planning, controller experience required.Preferred Education and Experience:Previous experience in a Project Controller role, preferably in software solutions or professional services.Tolling industry experience preferredCPA or CMA designation preferredBenefits We offer a Total Rewards plan designed with you and your family's health and wellness in mind that includes:Paid days off (i.e. vacation, sick days, bereavement leave)Health and Dental plansRetirement plansEmployee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)Employee referral programWe welcome applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, or disability or any other protected characteristics in accordance with applicable federal, stateprovincial, and local laws.
