Due to the requirement to have access to US Military controlled programs, U.S. Citizenship required** JOB DESCRIPTIONTITLE: Manufacturing Engineer Senior Manufacturing EngineerPay: $110,000 - 140,000 annuallyReports to: Transition ManagerSupervises: Not Applicable**- This position requires travel and interface with clients and vendorssuppliers - **ACCOUNTABILITIES SCOPEInterfaces: Company Management, purchasing, manufacturing personnel, outside contract manufacturers, suppliers and customers, as required.People Managed: May provide project leadership or coordination.Decisions: Under minimal supervision, works alone or as part of a team making technical designmanufacturing recommendations and decisions in support of various projects. Determines and develops approaches to solutions. Studies and recommends improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains.Impact of Error: Impact is on technical contributions to specific projects in different areas of design and or manufacturing oriented activities. Will be simultaneously involved in multiple complex and critical projects with emphasis on timely implementations.Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communications both written and verbal.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for coordinating and transitioning new products into manufacturing or coordinating the move of legacy products to a new manufacturing site.Responsible for capacity analysis, cell and floorspace layout, cell and capacity optimization, and production planning.Responsible for manufacturing floor support, including Engineering Changes, defective material disposition activity, etc.Determines and implements methods and operation sequence, tooling, equipment for overall fabrication, manufacture, assembly and test of parts, assemblies, etc. to final products.Reviews technical data (BOMs, procedures, drawings, work instructions, etc.) for accuracy and completeness, ensuring gaps and findings are addressed andor corrected.Accurately maintains and manages multilevel and indented BOMs for electro-mechanical and electro-optical devices and products.Responsible for coordinating test equipment, tooling and procedures, to support the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process.Estimates manufacturing costs, labor standards, coupled with cost reduction activity in support of the product line, as required.Implement various manufacturing standards, as required.Support purchasing in the selection, evaluation and monitoring of suppliers, fabricators, contract manufacturers and or service providers.Maintain technical proficiency as a Manufacturing Engineer, completing training as required.Ensure an efficient, safe, and secure environment is maintained.KNOWLEDGE SKILLSExperience with capacity analysis, cell and floorspace layout, cell and capacity optimization, and production planning.Strong experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Process, and NPI for electro-mechanical and electro-optical devices and box build.Ability to define and refine Assembly, Test and Inspection Procedures and Specifications.Knowledge of electro-mechanical and electro-optical technologies, equipment and their associated applications and assembly manufacturing processes.Experience integrating and building devices and products with hardware, mechanical, software, COTS component, wiring harness and interconnected elements.Strong knowledge and ability to structure, develop, and manage (take ownership of) multi-level BOMs and builds.Experience and ability to coordinate and interface with vendors and suppliers, to include electronic and mechanical components, custom and fabricated materials and parts.Understanding of functional test, calibration, in-process inspection, and final testacceptance.Experience and prowess in review of technical data (BOMs, procedures, drawings, work instructions, etc.) for accuracy and completeness. Ability to identify and correct gaps in technical packages and data, and manufacturing process.Previous experience with the move and transition of manufacturing lines is a plus.Requires the ability to work with vendors, suppliers, partners, and cross-functionally with other departments, such as Project Management, Purchasing, Test Engineering, and Quality Assurance.Knowledge of CAD and PLM tools, with ability to work within CAD, PLM and document control environmentsMicrosoft Office software: Word, Excel, and PowerPointCost estimating cost reductionAbility to conceptualize and solve complex problems.EDUCATION EXPERIENCEBSEE or equivalent plus 6-10 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or NPI Engineer with emphasis on electro-mechanical, electro-optical, and interconnected electronic products.
