Civil Engineer

Job descriptionWe are seeking a Project Coordinator with a background as a mechanical or civil engineer to provide support for various construction projects at the Power Plants in Bedford and Ghent. The Project Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring contractor safety compliance, monitoring quality of work, and facilitating effective coordination with stakeholders. This project is expect to run 2 or 3 years.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the oversight of contractor safety compliance and ensure adherence to OSHA safety policies.Monitor and evaluate contractor performance, focusing on quality and adherence to construction specifications.Serve as a liaison between contractors and project stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and project progression.Spend significant time in the field supervising contractor activities and ensuring alignment with project terpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure proper execution of tasks.Provide updates and recommendations to stakeholders based on field observations.Qualifications:Background in civil or mechanical engineering (preferred experience in both disciplines).Advanced knowledge of industrial construction practices and methodologies.Familiarity with OSHA safety policies and best practices.Skills:Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Basic proficiency in computer skills, including email, report writing, and data management.Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and project needs.Physical Demands:Ability to spend the majority of the time in the field, monitoring contractor performance and resolving issues as they arise.
