Probate Practice Paralegal

The Davey Law Group, P.A. is looking for a Probate Practice Paralegal with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, ideally in Probate.Overview The probate paralegal position is full-time and requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle pressure well, and a person who understands the importance of deadlines. The paralegal needs to relate to people in stressful situations, be highly trustworthy and discreet, and use good judgment when communicating verbally and in writing with clients, family members, other attorneys, and professionals. The job requires strong attention to detail as the paralegal works with wills, probate papers, tax forms, and other financial documents. Necessary Skills •      Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook •      Significant experience with case management software•      Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills•      Ability to prioritize tasks according to importance in a fast-paced, high-volume environment •      Ability to take ownership of responsibilities•      Ability to express empathy and kindness to clients as they go through the probate process •      Dependable, punctual, and has a positive attitude•      Professional demeanor and appearance  Daily Tasks •      Gathers and analyzes information for the attorney to support the action plan for the case•      Interacts with clients before and after initial consult for research purposes  •      Prepares legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and orders for attorney review •      Files pleadings and other court documents, answers telephone calls, and maintains physical and electronic files •      Calls clients, lawyers, and court personnel to schedule meetings and hearings •      Conducts legal research and gathers relevant information on case matters •      Other duties as assigned Experience Requirements •      College degree required•      Three to five years experience as a paralegal with some probate experience •      Certified Paralegal or Florida Registered Paralegal a plus •      Notary Public preferred
