POSITION SUMMARY:The Project Manager is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned to achieve safe, quality, and profitable projects completed in a timely manner. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:SafetyPromotes Cantera's culture of "Safety First"Project safety implementation and management in accordance with Cantera's Safety ProgramParticipate in all incidentsaccidents, including going to the occupational medical facility with the co-workersInteracts with the Cantera Safety Coordinator to ensure a safe workplaceEnforces Site Specific Safety Plans created by enforcing Cantera's rules, this includes your workers, other crews, and any trade on siteOperationalBe familiar with and follow the Cantera Concrete Staff Organization document for managing projectsFollows the information provided for each project, known as "The Greenbook"·Report project man-hours and quantities on a timely basisParticipate in the Job Turnover Process with the Estimator, Project Manager, General Superintendent, plus other members of the Cantera leadership teamDirect day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor forceMaintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and ArchitectEngineerDevelop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Project Manager· Coordinate site testing and inspection effortsMonitor costs including labor time and materialManage schedules and ensure all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates and complete a three-week lookahead schedule on a weekly basisAttending and participating in project meetings, including subcontractor meetingsMaintain and verify as-built drawings are accurateMobilizes the site and sets up site utilitiesAssures necessary permits are secured and inspections occurReviews, understands, documents to drawings, and executes all Requests for Information (RFIs)Reviews and executes submittals for implementation of the workReviews cost reports to assure they reflect accurate quantities and work out of placeActively coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and craft to meet project schedulesComplete Daily Project Reports, Concrete Log, Sign-In Sheets, and other documentsMaintain on-site accurate shop drawings for implementing the workCoaches and mentors' growth in crews and encourages Foreman and Craftsman to be mentorsCoordinate's location of control for layout with the Customer and Cantera Field Engineering DepartmentOther duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:Construction Industry KnowledgeBroad understanding of concrete construction experienceTechnological KnowledgeComputer and mobile device knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products, Field Time and other products used by the CompanyCommunication and Teamwork SkillsStrong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels, both internally and externallyFunctions effectively as part of a teamLeadership and Time Management SkillsExhibits strong leadership qualitiesStrong decision makingproblem solving skillsExcellent time management and organizational skills; able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlinesAdditional SkillsAble to perform duties independentlyStrong attention to detailWorks well under pressure and with deadlinesCan follow rules but can show initiativeEnjoys overcoming objectionsresistance and achieving goals in the face of obstaclesWORK CONDITIONS AND HOURS:Conditions and hoursWorks on site over rough terrainRequires overtime hoursOften exposed to the elementsMust be comfortable with travel on a need-to-need basisMust be able to lift 70 lbs.Some weekends are requiredFrequent activity of Standing, Kneeling, Walking, Climbing, Bending, reaching above Shoulders, Pushing and PullingMust be able to climb and work at heights above 6 feetEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:EducationBachelor's Degree, preferably in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalentWork ExperienceFive (5) years of Concrete industry experience or four (4) years equivalent of education and experienceCertificationsOSHA 10 CertifiedOSHA 30 CertifiedCPR CertifiedFirst Aid CertifiedAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
