Our specialized experience includes design for data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, education, and other building types as well as structural and building sciences, infrastructure asset management, advanced robotics, and more.Job Summary:The Senior Electrical Engineer will design building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, academic, industrial, and commercial projects. This role is positioned to allow the individual to move into a management position. In this role, you will:Design electrical systems including lighting, power, and life safety) for new facilities and facility modernization projectsDevelop calculations for lighting systems and associated controlsLead project teams and serve as the primary contact for the discipline with clientsPerform QAQC of design work and prepare detailed design documentsOversee and provide guidance to junior engineersCoordinate work with other disciplinesAssist in the procurement of new work; including the development of client relations and participation in project interviewsRequired:You have a minimum of 10 years design experienceYou have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical EngineeringYou are a registered PE in Maryland, DC andor VirginiaDesired:LEED certificationexperience is a plusYou have experience with laboratoriesmedical facilities design is preferredProficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS OfficeFamiliarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines, including proficiency with the National Electrical CodeExcellent work ethic and attitudeGood communication and time management skillsInterpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize workAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamAbility to provide technical mentorship to engineers with less experienceAbility to solve problems in an effective and timely mannerLocation: Bethesda, MDTravel - 10% (local job sites)Equal Opportunity Employment StatementSalas O'Brien provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, stateprovincial, or local laws.
