Senior Controls Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:Our client in Addison, TX, is looking for a Controls Engineer. The role involves implementing automation solutions using various platforms, leading a team, and interacting with customers. It requires strong problem-solving abilities, people skills, and a focus on business efficiency. Success in this role is demonstrated by securing repeat work with new and existing customers.RESPONSIBILITIES:This role requires the ability to deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards either independently or as a team leader. The candidate must be able to conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery, including developing control system architecture, selecting components, programming controllers, developing databases, and implementing the control system at the client's facility. Knowledge of various controller programming languages and standard programming languages is required.Experience with industrial networking is preferred. The Controls Engineer would design, detail, and implement a variety of fiber, wired, and wireless systems using industrial protocols (EthernetIP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).This role involves project management duties such as developing execution plans, work breakdown structures, budgeting, task scheduling, time and financial tracking, issue resolution, team leadership, and overseeing project operations up to $10M.The ideal candidate must have a diverse engineering skillset with the ability to work independently. Will act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians. Could also act as Project Manager on smaller projects.QUALIFICATIONS:Education - Bachelor of Science degree in ElectricalControl Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science or equal experience.Experience - Greater than 8 years with capabilities in below areas is preferred:In-depth understanding of Emerson DeltaV platform.Experience in PLC-5 to ControlLogix -depth understanding of PLC hardwaresoftware platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and -depth understanding of HMISCADA hardwaresoftware platforms such as Servers, VM's, Networks, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk and Plant Pax, Aveva System Platform and Edge, Inductive Automation Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens Winn CC and TI Portal.Understanding of DCS hardwaresoftware platforms such as Emerson DeltaV or similar.Project Management experience with a PMP certification a plus.Understanding of BatchRecipes, OEE, MES, and ERP systems.Experience in industries such as Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, Water Treatment, and general manufacturing.Experience in the design of electrical schematics, and control panels including power distribution under 480VAC, and associated NEC references desired.Experience with AutoCAD is also desired.Experience leading a team of engineerstechnicians to provide control system solutions.Experience mentoring less experienced engineers.Professional references, preferably one from each of the following: a subordinate, a peer, and a manager.TRAVEL: Ability to travel up to 25% - mostly local to Dallas.PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION: Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, ability to mountdismount equipment, pushing and pulling.WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Standard office environment, on-site office environment, diverse industrial environments, frequent use of a personal computer, facsimilecopy machines, and phones.
