Job Description: HVAC TechnicianA service technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service. · Responsibilities· Installation:Install, calibrate, and commission heating and cooling systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units.Connect electrical wiring, control panels, and piping to ensure proper system functionality.Collaborate with other construction professionals to integrate HVAC systems into new or existing buildings.· Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency of HVAC spect, clean, and replace air filters, coils, and other system components as needed.Test and troubleshoot system controls, thermostats, and sensors.· Repairs:Diagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems, including identifying electrical and mechanical issues.Replace or repair defective components such as compressors, motors, fans, and control boards.Conduct performance tests after repairs to ensure proper system functionality.· Refrigerant Handling:Handle refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations.Perform leak checks, recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerants, as necessary.Stay updated on changes in refrigerant types and associated regulations.· Customer Interaction:Communicate effectively with customers to understand their HVAC needs and concerns.Provide detailed explanations of diagnosed problems, repair options, and associated costs.· Documentation:Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and plete work orders, service reports, and other necessary paperwork.Provide detailed documentation for warranty claims and customer reference.· Safety:Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.· Continuous Learning:Stay informed about industry advancements, technological updates, and best practices.Attend training sessions, workshops, and obtain relevant certifications.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent; completion of HVAC training program or apprenticeship.Licensed Certified.Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA 608 Certification for handling refrigerants).Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and refrigeration principles.Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Physical fitness for lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions.Effective communication and customer service skills.Experience:Entry-level positions may require hands-on training or apprenticeship.Experienced technicians should have a proven track record of successful installations, maintenance, and repairs.
