Optomi, in partnership with a leading Automotive company, is seeking a QA Engineer (Electric Vehicle Charging) to join their growing team!!Long-term Contract: 12+ monthsLocation: Long Beach, CA (4 days onsite 1 day remote)Open for C2C or W2 candidates.Job Responsibilities:The primary role of the Test Engineer is to ensure Electric Vehicle DC Fast Charging Interoperability with prototype vehicles and charging infrastructure, ensuring the successful release and performance of both Hardware and Software. This includes managing release testing, developing test plans, and executing test runs.Key Responsibilities:Charging Communication Testing:Troubleshoot interoperability charging communication issues, primarily focused on DC fast charging.Collect and analyze PLC charging communication and vehicle CAN data.Understand charging services via OCPP & API messages and how they relate to charging functionality.Familiarity with SAE and ISO standards and the ability to develop test cases for interoperability testing.Update Test Vehicles with hardware andor software, performing smoke tests to ensure successful updates.Ensure proper operation of the Charging System (hardware & software) by monitoring logs and communication between dustry & Project Management Tasks:Participate in charging interoperability testing symposiums such as Charin and ACT, collaborating with industry partners across CPOs, EVSE Manufacturers, and OEMs.Collect feedback and develop technical requirements for US-specific systemfeature implementation.Regularly generate project reports and ensure communication of progress, risks, delays, and potential solutions to management.Manage and plan development activities to support project timelines, ensuring timely completion.Stay up-to-date on Electric Vehicle ( EV ) charging infrastructure developments in the USA to align testing efforts with the evolving CPO & EVSE market.Work independently to meet deadlines and deliverables.Travel:Domestic Travel: Approximately 3 times per ternational Travel: Approximately 1 time per year.Qualifications:Experience with DC fast charging communication protocols and charging infrastructure.Strong understanding of SAE, ISO standards, and OCPPAPI communications.Proficiency in data collection and analysis (PLC and CAN).Familiarity with test development, test execution, and update verification.Strong communication skills and the ability to generate clear project reports.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
