Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced paralegal to join our team of professionals who support skilled nursing facilities and other long term care operations in California and other states. The position offers a diverse set of duties in support of the Company's Legal and Compliance programs and is based in our Carlsbad, CA office; however, the right candidate who lives in California or Colorado will be allowed to work remotely. Key Performance Elements:· Highly independent, needs little guidance and can effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects that require attention to detail and follow through.· Assist with and conduct audits in a wide range of areas in support of Company legal and compliance initiatives.· Support outside legal counsel with collecting documents and discovery responses.· Coordinate responses to subpoenas, document requests, and regulatory audits.· Support regulatory compliance efforts by monitoring state and federal laws affecting skilled nursing facilities.· Conduct initial review of contracts sent to legal department for review, and assist in maintaining establishing and maintain Company contract management database (training provided).· Prepare and file necessary regulatory documents with state and federal agencies (training provided).· Willingness to travel to affiliate locations as needed.Qualifications:· Bachelor's degree andor paralegal certification from an accredited program.· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal with litigation andor regulatory experience.
