GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONThe Senior Manager of S&O Communications, Field Readiness, and Project Management will have a lead role in the organization overseeing the prioritization of critical issues impacting a variety of communications, tasks, field readiness processes, and project work streams within the S&O team. Aside from the management of a variety of ongoing communications and field readiness work streams, the role will lead and participate across the enterprise in project related work streams. The role will oversee the relationship with various support departments (Merch HR IT Fuels Maintenance etc.) as well as the EPMO group. The role will serve as the liaison to provide an S&O perspective and subject matter expertise for other committees that may be created from time to time as required to fill key business initiatives. The Senior Manager will develop, facilitate, and manage key forums where all operational related work is discussed, prioritized, and actioned. A key skill set of a successful candidate in this role will be their ability to influence others with limited direct accountability (influence without authority). This position needs to have a great understanding of Enterprise Change Management, and an ability to manage various project work streams and initiatives simultaneously while working collaboratively contributing knowledge and managerial oversight of the S&O Home Office Support Team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.Oversight, development, and management of a variety of key business projects within the S&O organization. This position will A) directly lead key departmental functions to include communications, tasks, field readiness, compliance, fleet, and the ongoing S&O project work owning their outcome and delivering results; B) provide tracking, assistance, driving influence, and support required for strategic and other departmental projects; and C) assist in S&O goal development, cadence and execution following the guideposts below; and D) monitoring outputs and sustainment needs where necessary: Initiative or project frameworkWork project assignment within subordinatesCost benefit analysis where appropriateDeveloping project chartersOnboarding and sustaining all support departments as to S&O processesProject launches through management of FRC and coordination with Execution team to ensure successful implementation, hand-off, reporting, sustainabilityProgress tracking of all work streamsBenefits realization trackingProject KPI and applicable metrics2. Develop and manage a cadence of regularly scheduled touch base meetings with all key personnel from key support departments to ensure dialogue of all relevant work. Ensure alignment with upcoming events and potential S&O Field opportunities using the Field Impact Calendar. The Senior Manager will ensure the meetings are a collection point for information obtained during these meetings to ensure action, follow-up, and closure to pertinent topics discussed by contributing departmental team members. A key piece of this work is asking second, third level questions to ensure clarity and understanding.3. Manage Field Compliance program to include monitoring of employee compliance across all stores renewals; state, local, ordinance programs; sustainment where applicable; knowledge of compliance work flows, and liaison with Legal, Third party partners, and other necessary resources to maintain not only oversight over current compliance programs, but forward looking or new programs that may promulgate from time to time.4. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of field operations through field exposure, travel, visits, and participation in field processes in order to help frame problems and issues which then drive solutions that are related to the improvement of internal customer needs, maintain andor improve standards.5. Play an integral and leadership focused role in the department's staff meeting to ensure alignment on upcoming tasks and events for S&O organization. In this role, the Senior Manager will track, motivate, follow-up, and ensure results are being delivered. A key component will be the candidate's ability to influence without authority which will stretch various skill sets of collaboration, partnership, and other managerial skills.6. To support continuous improvement processes, this role will also be required to anticipate issues and risks from change impacts driven by the variety of work streams it manages. Through effective communication and collaboration, these risks will be addressed and mitigated.7. Oversee and maintain the S&O (Home Office and field) field impact project calendar that provides visibility into all field facing work. This will also be used to coordinate work coming from all other departments. Work closely with Managers from various departments to act as an S&O SME, gatekeeper, facilitator, and partner to ensure an active S&O presence in all field impacting work.8. Partner, align, and manage the relationship with the IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to ensure projects are aligned and prioritized based on discretionary and strategic workload.9. Create, formalize, and leverage a network of collaborative subject matter expert contacts ranging from field level (District Manager Divisional Director) partners to other organizational team members in order to have a working "partnership of expertise" to draw from and rely upon during various initiative efforts. This will also be demonstrated in the candidate's ability to strongly influence others to ensure timely and accurate execution.10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned, to include oversight of company car fleet programs, etc.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, andor ability required.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBroad knowledge of such fields as retail operations, accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 7 years related experience andor training, and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
