Due to the requirement to have access to US Military controlled programs, U.S. Citizenship required** JOB DESCRIPTIONTITLE: Test Engineer Senior Test EngineerPay: $90,000 - 110,000 annuallyReports to: Transition ManagerSupervises: Not Applicable*Ability to travel required* ACCOUNTABILITIES SCOPEInterfaces: Company Management, purchasing, manufacturing personnel, outside contract manufacturers, suppliers and customers, as required.People Managed: May provide project leadership or coordination.Decisions: Under minimal supervision, works alone or as part of a team making technical designmanufacturing recommendations and decisions in support of various projects. Determines and develops approaches to solutions. Studies and recommends improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains.Impact of Error: Impact is on technical contributions to specific projects in different areas of design and or manufacturing oriented activities. Will be simultaneously involved in multiple complex and critical projects with emphasis on timely implementations.Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communications both written and verbal.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for understanding and implementing full test coverage for new and transitioned electro-mechanical and electro-optical products, covering CCAPCBA test, subassembly test, functional test, inspection, calibration, and finalacceptance test.Responsible for coordinating the development and transfer of test platforms, assets and procedures into manufacturing.This will include CCAPCBA test, functional test, inspection, calibration, and finalacceptance test.Coordinate the move of existing test capabilities for legacy products to new manufacturing sites.Develop and write Test Specifications and Test Requirements for new and legacy products.This may include reverse engineering and updating legacy Test Specifications and Test Requirements.Reviews technical data (procedures, Test Specs and Requirements, work instructions, etc.) for accuracy and completeness, ensuring gaps and findings are addressed andor corrected. This may include reverse engineering and updating legacy Test Specifications and Test Requirements.Responsible for daily Manufacturing Test support, including addressing production test failures and test efficiency.Responsible for manufacturing floor support, including Engineering Changes, defective material disposition activity, resolution of test failures, etc.Responsible for coordinating the standardization of test equipment.Estimates costs, labor standards, coupled with cost reduction activity in support of the department and business, as required.Define and implement various Test procedures, as required.Maintain technical proficiency as a Test Engineer, completing training as required.Ensure an efficient, safe, and secure environment is maintained.Responsible for the quality and accuracy of own work.KNOWLEDGE SKILLSStrong experience with Test Engineering in Manufacturing and NPI environments.Strong experience with Test Development to include Automated Test Equipment (ATE), Test Program Sets (TPS), functional test, and final acceptance test.Proficiency with standard test software and tools such as LabVIEW, TestStand, scripting languages, Interface Test Adapters (ITA), etc. Certifications and formal training are a plus.Ability to develop, define and review Test Specifications, Test Requirements, procedures and instructions.Knowledge of electro-mechanical and electro-optical technologies, equipment and their associated applications, manufacturing and test processes.Experience integrating and testing devices and products with hardware, mechanical, software, COTS component, wiring harness and interconnected elements.Experience and ability to coordinate and interface with vendors and suppliers, to include electronic and mechanical components, custom and fabricated materials and parts.Solid understanding of functional tests, calibration, in-process inspection, and final testacceptance to ensure test coverage and the efficient use of test assets.Experience and prowess in review of technical data (test methods and requirements, procedures, drawings, work instructions, etc.) for accuracy and completeness. Ability to identify and correct gaps in technical packages and data, and manufacturing process.Previous experience with the move and transition of manufacturing and test assets.Requires the ability to work with vendors, suppliers, partners, and cross-functionally with other departments, such as Project Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Assurance.Ability to work within CAD, PLM and document control environmentsMicrosoft Office software: Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to conceptualize and solve complex problems.EDUCATION EXPERIENCEBSEE or equivalent plus 6-10 years of experience as a Test Engineer with emphasis on electronics, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical products.
