If you share this vision, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity with us: the role of AVP, Workers' Compensation Claims.This Claims AVP will report to the Head of Claims at Republic Indemnity with the primary responsibilities of leading the Calabasas claims team.Responsibilities:Management of the Calabasas claims department of 25 claims professionalsResponsible for performance, development and coaching of staff.Provides input and actively participates in divisional meetings and training sessions.Partners with peers and parent company leadership to provide insights regarding claims trends and developments.Offers support and counsel in connection with new business opportunities and key account retention.Provides strategic direction and tactical leadership to the department.Drives culture of innovation and continuous improvement through processes, systems and practices to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.Monitors and analyzes data to ensure consistency in quality of reserving, strategies, and outcomes.Ensures that claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statutes, regulations and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.Responsible for nurturing and enhancing a unique claims culture, maintaining high levels of employee engagement, and ensuring a strong customer service focus.Provides advice on the resolution of claims files including oversight and strategy for large claims and litigation management. Submits recommendations to Corporate Claims on cases exceeding personal authority.Works closely with senior leadership team to ensure budget and performance targets are effectively set and achieved.Engages with appropriate industry organizations to identify changes in the claims and legal environment and develop effective strategies to navigate.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.10+ years of proven leadership experience with experience in management of a workers compensation claims department, including experience with strategic planning and employee development.Previous experience working with workers' compensation claims required. Must be results oriented and customer service focused, with a bias for action and constant improvement.Strong analytical and communication skills with the proven ability of partnering with individuals at all levels.Ability to clearly articulate vision and surance industry awareness and involvement.
