Sigray, Inc. has an immediate need for a Controls Engineer experienced with the EPICS software collaboration to join our team, supporting the EPICS Controls infrastructure used company-wide in our Scientific, Engineering, and Administration systems. This is an exciting position and the successful candidate will be helping the development, manufacture, maintenance, support of extraordinarily powerful X-ray experimental systems. This position is a Senior position. The successful applicant will work a team of highly experienced software staff, with Mechanical Engineers and with Scientists.The Ideal Candidate will:Provide EPICS support for the company products and development systems Work with scientists, engineers, and other staff to deliver Controls solutions for the Sigray product;Assist in providing EPICS based controls for Scanning, detectors, motion systems; and Assist writing technical documentation and procedures for software and hardware systems.They will need these skillsA good understanding of EPICS database configurations and EPICS baseA good understanding of SYNAPPS and motion controlsAn understanding of how EPICS and CA can be used with peer to peer networks.Experience with Containerization and virtualization in Linux environments Exposure to major desktop operating systems. Primarily Linux, with some Windows, MacOS, etcExcellent verbal and written communication skills in a team environmentAble to provide detailed user support, primarily remotely, but also before equipment deliveryAbility to diagnose and perform some hardware supportAbility to multitask and deliver solutions under tight deadlinesShould have these QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Computing sciences field or equivalent experienceAdditional Skills of InterestSynchrotron or Neutron Beamlines or similar high energy X-rayNeutrons experienceExperiences with Windows and Linux sysadminEPICS Software collaboration contributionsA profile on EPICS Tech talk andor EPICS collaborationsExperience with Redhat or Rocky Linux PLC and motions controls interfacing Writing EPICS drivers, especially for detectorsAn understanding of modern networkingAbout SigraySigray is a rapidly growing startup based in Benicia, CA, that manufactures X-ray sources, optics, and X-ray systems.
