Job descriptionPosition Serves EastNorth Bay Region including - Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Solano, san Francisco, San Mateo, Contra Costa and Alameda CountiesPosition Summary:Works under the direction of the Executive Director. As a Regional Support Specialist, your priority is to support staff and clients of the Developmental Disability Program. You will manage a caseload of direct support clients while assisting in support of the front-line team through monitoring, advising, and training. Travels to the regional center geographic areas for assessments, consultations, and quality assurance visits. Ensures accurate and appropriate documentation and follow-up. Your efforts are instrumental in improving the overall well-being and quality of life of our staff and clients.Candidate Characteristics:Family Works Regional Support Staff is expected to uphold client safety and privacy standards, and communication. Family Works lead staff is expected to uphold the highest accountability standards, employer focus, communication, and efficiency. The Regional Support Specialist is responsible for assisting in supervising the activities of assigned direct support staff.Experience and skills:â— 2 years of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities or in the human services fieldâ— Effectively interact with people across multiple culturesâ— Comfort working in consumer's homesâ— Receptive and responsive to coaching and feedbackâ— Excellent written and verbal communicationâ— Knowledge of Basic Technology, including Microsoft Applications and GoogleQualifications:â— Associate degree or equivalentâ— Must be age 21 or overAbility to pass:â— Criminal background checkâ— DMV background checkâ— Pre-employment physicalâ— TB testâ— Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist individuals with transfers to and from mobility equipment and vehiclesâ— Reliable vehicle for transportation of individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilitiesâ— Fluent in Englishâ— Fluent in Spanish (Preferred)â— Ability to effectively serve in the role of an essential service worker during statelocal emergencies and pandemicsâ— Willingness to travel to see clientsTasks:â— Make effective schedules to serve consumer(s) to fulfill goals and objectives in the Individual Service Plan (ISP).â— Manage completion of activities in a timely manner to meet short and long-term goals of the consumer(s) and their dependents.â— Attend meetings with the consumer(s), Family Works Staff, and case manager(s).â— Assist Family Works staff through phone calls, email, and in-person meetings.â— Ensures that Family Works policies and procedures, as well as Title 17 policies, are followed in the administration of disability support programs.â— Maintain Staff and consumer(s) confidentiality.â— Know and adhere to the responsibilities of a Mandated Reporter and The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).â— Complete SIR, and Incident Reports as needed.â— Review and coach on chartings and documentation of client visits.â— Assist in the review of staff timesheets and mileage at the end of each service period.â— Maintain and protect Family Works equipment.â— Maintain a professional relationship with Regional Center staff regarding consumer(s) and staff matters.â— Review consumer(s) and overall case planning, utilizing agency staff and other resources.â— Manage staff of up to 10 and clients of up to 38 at one time.â— Perform initial and annual assessments and complete appropriate documentation and reporting.â— Encourage and guide consumer(s) in identifying and achieving personal goals, and when applicable, include others who are relevant (i.e., parents or children).â— Develop and maintain consumer(s) notes and progress reports.â— Using various approaches, engage with the consumer(s) according to the individual service plan.â— Encourage the consumer(s) and family to fully participate in coordinating and utilizing the servicesresources available.â— Transport consumer(s).â— Perform tasks that relate to administrative responsibilities and other duties as assigned.â— Ability to travel within 50 miles of the office regularly.â— Out-of-area travel may be required to attend professional conferences and meetings.â— Additional Duties as requested.â— Bi-lingual is preferred but not required.Benefits:â— Flexible scheduleâ— Paid Time off and sick timeâ— Professional growth and developmentâ— Industry-standard training, including First AidCPRâ— Opportunities to participate in fun activities with our clients, such as going to the movies, bowling, and even professional sporting eventsâ— Laptop and printer providedâ— Mileage and cell phone reimbursementâ— Employee Assistance ProgramJob Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per week
